Question on everyones family
What does your family or would they think (if they don't know) about Twokinds or fur fandom? For me my dad would just shake his head in dissapointment, and my mom and sisters would lecture me why it's wrong, lol I'm the oddball.
So yeah I keep Twokinds to myself, they would see it as "bestiality"

Re: Question on everyones family
my dad has seen some of the more "furry" pics I use as backgrounds (nothing beyond pg-13, but pushing it. XD), and all he does is joke about it. XD my mom doesn't really care one way or the other either. O.o first time they saw it, all my dad did was make a dirty comment about the picture (feline furry, take a guess at the comment. lol) nothing negative has been said.

Hmmmm your parents don't sound bad. Like my parents wouldn't stop me, but my sister Jessica would lecture me on why it's "immoral" to me..I like it. Well Twokinds style really. But yeah i am just curious to see any super conservitive parents or somethingBane Dragon wrote:my dad has seen some of the more "furry" pics I use as backgrounds (nothing beyond pg-13, but pushing it. My parents...Ah hell, I've told this story on the what if furries were real thread. They're conservative to the point that they think anything with fur is an animal, and they see any furry comics as animal porn, even if there's nothing pornagraphic about them. My brother, on the other paw...is deeply in the closet about liking furry art. He doesn't like porn at all, which is odd enough for a sixteen year old man-child, but there ya go. Far as furry goes, he's about where I was at his age, just getting into it.
From the Sergals and Sergal Lovers channel of F-List's chat system (Beyond NSFW, by the way): Honey, you ain't the only abnormal sergal in here. We got three pink northerns, a fairy, and a dork with a talking sword.

I'm getting into it I guess, not the whole yiff thing though, thats still weird to me -_- not saying anything nagainst twokinds art, I'd so date Flora but I'd keep it secretive, trying not to be an outcast anymore. But I love my new school, I feel like I can be myself more and still be liked by my other friends. I know of 1 furry for sure, but his style of art is...a little too close to being full on animal. Not to mention he kept it as his bg in Web Design class, a very suggestive tiger, teacher saw it, didn't even say anything.Insomniac wrote:My parents...Ah hell, I've told this story on the what if furries were real thread. I wish there'd been more furries at my school lol.MasterTemplar wrote:I'm getting into it I guess, not the whole yiff thing though, thats still weird to me -_- not saying anything nagainst twokinds art, I'd so date Flora but I'd keep it secretive, trying not to be an outcast anymore. Re: Question on everyones family
My family... My family... Would... I don't think my dad would care... He would say that it is a passing fad or something of the like. If he knew I'd almost been one for a year, than he would say I'm obsessed and should seek psychiatric help. My mom on the other hand, well to her I'm her favorite son, my brother calls me a momma's boy. Heh, I doubt she'd care at all. Then again, One of my friends compares this with bestiality and says I'm going to hell, so maybe I'm not a good judge of character.

"Going to hell" that's harsh, I'm Christain and I think it would take a lot more then bestiality to go to hell some people are ignorant. We're human, that's alls there is to it.coal wrote:My family... My family... Would... I don't think my dad would care... He would say that it is a passing fad or something of the like. Re: Question on everyones family
I'm the only one in my family who has interest in furries (in fact, I'm pretty much the only person in my life who likes furries XD).
My friends, parents and lil' sis don't have any problems bout me looking at the stuff but my older sister finds it weird, every time I have one up as a YM avatar she comments on how disgusting it is and tells me to change it.

Re: Question on everyones family
Considering that my parents are fully aware of how much I draw kemonomimi (foxgirls and the like) and haven't said a peep regarding it I'd say they wouldn't care. Heck, if they didn't know my foxgirl, Asuka, is my alter ego by now I'd be surprised. I've drawn animal people since elementary. They have no issues with my anime watching. If they knew of TwoKinds...uh, well actually my mom does know of TwoKinds : D I told her about it. She just thought it was cool how much the art changed (she didn't read it, just looked at a few art pages from the beginning and end). She also said she wanted to create an animal character for something because she thought it'd be cool. My dad doesn't care. And I do believe I've explained the fur fandom to them. So...yeah, they're totally cool with it.
Actually...my mom was totally fine with the idea of me buying fox ears and a tail for my cosplay she made me. Heh, she really surprised me. Just comes out one day "I want to make you one of those lolita dresses : D " and does so. At the moment, she encourages me wearing my cat ears and tail with it XD
Now my grandmother on the other hand...well, actually my dad's entire side...no idea what they think of me. But they're ...uh...they act a bit elitist for Christians. My grandmother spazzed on me for reading a manga about a girl who used the horoscope to solve murder mysteries. She also spazzed about my interest in wanting to wear a dragon necklace with 'fairydust'. I know before I was baptised they thought I was worshipping evil because they sent me a letter when I was baptised about how happy they were that I chose the path of God and would go to heaven. Not sure where on Earth they were but I've been Christian my whole life. XD but ah well~

Re: Question on everyones family
My parents have seen my art on dA for quite a while. And they know that 2k is a furry comic and that I'm a member of the forum. And yet they've never said that it was strange or wrong or anything. They even know that I have a fursona. :3 They've even jokingly teased about it once. So I think theyre cool about it.
My bro has known the longest. He doesnt seem to mind. My sisters think it's weird tho. But of course they've ALWAYS thought I was weird. XD

Re: Question on everyones family
I doubt anyone knows that I read furry comics.
I personally don't want them to think I'm a furry when I'm not.
Edit: Yeah, I know my avatar goes against me but I'm still not a furry.

Re: Question on everyones family
I guess it all comes down to the definition of what a furry is...if you read furry comics and enjoy furry art...is that all it takes? Maaaaaaaybe...
*eyes Doren*
Well, my folks know that I read some furry comics - they saw me wearing my VGCats and old TwoKinds t-shirts enough times. That's not even going into the fact that, as a kid, I ran around purring and meowing at everyone.
All they know is that I have a few quirks and an odd taste in reading material - I don't think they even know the term "furry" - and I plan on keeping it that way. They're old, and I don't want to see any heart attacks.
XD
My bros, on the other hand, know the term, and are connecting the dots...so I'm getting some weird commentary from them now. The term "furry" is so loaded - I've not changed at all, but now that they connect it with that word, all of the luggage that the word carries with it has them thinking all sorts of strange things about me.
Maybe I'll send them some nice Accelo or Abel art and REALLY get them going.
