We're getting rain. Normally, that puts a damper on someone's day, but when you're A. In a drought and B. Have a raging wildfire in your state. Rain makes you smile.

Finally Summer vacations are upon me. I can't help but be happy at the tought of not having to wake up early for two whole months.

Time to begin my yearly hibernation ritual.

We actually got three days in a row where, for at least a couple consecutive hours each day, it didn't rain.

Akira, I would happily ship you a week's worth of the stuff...

So earlier today I made a post about having a dream in which I was invited to go for wings tonight. Turns out it wasn't a dream xD

Initially I thought some friends had texted me about it, but really they had made a group chat on Facebook! I forgot about it because I rarely use Facebook these days... Anyways, I got to eat wings afterall and I was only a few minutes late xD

Filled up my truck again, for an average of 16 mpg!
That's a 60% increase since I first started driving it!

Also, I think I got the job at Valvoline, because I've been scheduled for orientation on Monday.

And I just sent in my 609 certification open-book no-due-date test today, so in 6-8 weeks, I'll know if I'll be certified for automotive A/C system service for the rest of my life. So that's cool.

Actually depending on the state, an employer doesn't have to let you take meal breaks if they choose not to. For example Arizona doesn't require employers to give meal breaks. Nor does the Federal government either for that matter. Most employers do so as custom, as a courtesy or are smart enough to realize a fed and slightly rested employee performs better than a tired and hungry one. Check you local and state laws to be sure.

Also I got my hair cut today, so no more Bob Ross look for me.
Can confirm AZ labor laws. Security officer here.

12hr shifts on weekends and no designated rest or lunch breaks for me. Granted, there is plenty of down time, so it's all good.

Also, I think we have some kind of law that says drivers can't go longer than 12hrs at work in a vehicle without a special license, (that we don't have). So if one of our vehicle patrol officers is late, the on-duty officer has to just sit in a parking lot until relief arrives.

Today I'm not happy for myself. Rather, I'm happy for my brother, since today's his birthday!

And there's cake!

And the cake is not a lie!
