I'm getting a new iPod.
Alright, so just over a week ago, I lost my iPod. Saddening, I know. I've been pretty much musicless, and it's terrible when I have a song stuck in my head and I can't listen to it to satisfy myself. Or worse, get three or more songs stuck in my head at once and not have the means to listen to them and get it all sorted out. I've had the first verse and choruses of three different Boston songs running around all jumbled up and I've forgotten ow each of them go BUT NOW I'M JUST RAMBLING!
Anyway, how convenient that this popped up in my inbox today!
$200 for a 16GB. I wanna' go for it.
I want to ask your opinion before I send in my order, though.

iFixit just took apart one of the new Nanos and apparently Apple is using a glass screen on the latest generation, which should be much more resistent to scratches than the plastic screens of generations before.
Meh, personally I prefer the Zune a lot more than I do the iPod. I like the new colours, but the Zune's got the better features.
It all comes down to what you prefer in terms of features, interface, and most importantly, music player. What music app do you use on your computer? I never liked iTunes so I got the Zune, and that's good for me, but if you like iTunes, then yeah, the refresh of the Nano could be pretty good.

I always used my own screen protectors (it was a case that shielded the whole thing but the scroll wheel). It worked out fine, but this sounds good too.avwolf wrote:iFixit just took apart one of the new Nanos and apparently Apple is using a glass screen on the latest generation, which should be much more resistent to scratches than the plastic screens of generations before.
I've already got an iTunes going with about 900 songs (over half of it is video game music <___<), so I'm really leaning towards an iPod right now. I've already gotten used to it, and I'm more acquainted with it, so I don't think I'm going to go down the Zune path.

My next iPod will be a Classic, I think.
Just need to find the cash...
At the moment I use a 4Gen 20GB in my car.
(The screen is waterdamaged and doesn't work anymore, and the scroll-wheel is 'flaky', so I have it hooked u to the stereo using the Pioneer dock adatper)
And at other times I use a 1Gen 5GB.
(Replaced the battery recently, but the headphone connector is damaged)
I picked up a Zen 4GB model a while ago because it said that it was 'AAC compatible' on the box, and my iTunes library contains over 4000 songs*...
What creative means with 'compatible' is that they include a windoooze-program for converting AAC-files into .mp3. Not much use on my PowerMac(where I keep the iTunes library)
The durn ting doesn't even show up as a remoable drive...
Without the SD-slot in it, it would be completely useless for me.
*Not counting the big audiobooks, which are in the best quality I could get them in, and of course, they're all 'unabridged'. And the podcasts... Probably around 3000 files there, too...

If you can play with an iPod touch...try them. if 8GB is all you need there fun iPods...the Nano is a better choice though if your gonna use anything other then windows or OS X. I still am having trouble syncing my touch with my ubuntu desktop T_T. the fun thing about the touch is all the mods. Like right now mine has quake and NES roms on it. and it looks something like this. Just suggestions and yes its not an iPhone...i just made my touch think its an iPhone

Oh well, on topic, I would say I would go for an itouch but they dont make one with enough memory at the moment. I have an 8gig 3rd gen nano, a 4 gig mini, a 20 gig ipod photo and a 20 gig classic. all loaded with different music. ( and no I didnt just waste money on all those, the mini was a Christmas gift about 5 years ago and the rest were ones people broke so I talked them into giving them to me and i fixed them>)
My avatar is the result of arting for the first time in 8 years... not bad I believe ^_^

1st gen...200,000 miles...the motor blew up. The neon is a R/T model...so its not really a downgrade. Its epic win. Nice car. and 32GB isnt enough?epion04 wrote:He went from an eclipse to a neon?
