Missionforce: Cyberstorm on Windows 7 32-bit
There's a game I got WAY back in 2012, to complete my earthsiege collection(Don't know what Earthsiege is? Well you're not the only one. It's one of the first giant mech sims in the industry if not THE very first actual Mech Simulator, and it's set in the post-apocalyptic future where the evil robots known as the Cybrids are hunting down the last of mankind.), anyhow, for the past 2 years I've been unable to get this game to actually save or load any sort of save data. Every time I try, it just crashes back to the desktop. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you checked for updates to the game? What about compatibility? I think you said you had a 32-bit OS? Does it play well with that. Have you run the game in compatibility mode for different OS's? Also, I am sure there is probably a forum for this specific game. If so, have you checked to see if anyone else has had this same problem?
Sorry if I'm no help right now, but the more we know about this the better.

There are none to my knowledge, I've tried every compatibility mode under the sun, it's a 16-bit game and those usually run well on a 32-bit OS. Even my copy of Earthsiege 2, which is OLDER runs on my computer. The forum that had help for the game, just stopped helping out because the person that could check all of these problems no longer has enough time to help out.

Why not run it under Dosbox?

Because to my knowledge, Missionforce: Cyberstorm isn't a DOS game.

You run it with windows 3.1 inside dosbox.Akira110 wrote:Because to my knowledge, Missionforce: Cyberstorm isn't a DOS game.

There's even a pre-installed image on that page.
I just downloaded it, ran dosbox with my extracted image folder, and typed 'windows.bat'. Simple as that.
You'd just need to add your game's files as well, either in the mounted Windows folder, or as a separate mounted drive.

Will a windows 95 game from 1996 work in 3.1?

It depends on the game -- Usually, windows 95 exclusive ones said "windows 95" right on the box, because people might well have had 3.1.Akira110 wrote:Will a windows 95 game from 1996 work in 3.1?
All I saw on your game's box was "Windows", generic. IIRC, I also read some posts talking about it working.
