Minecraft errors...and epicness

#1 Post by alex3192 »

So, I recently got my hands on a iBook G4 laptop. However, since it's powerpc I can't run any of my games...except minecraft. I got it to run by using just the JAR file, and other than a few times where it didn't load the chunks right and I fell through the hole in the floor, or where the nether robbed me of my diamond pickaxe when I fell until I was UNDER THE LAVA, then the portal and everything loaded and I died.
However, none of the sounds seem to work. When ever a sound should play, instead this horrible almost ripping sound spews forth from the speakers of this old PowerPc. Does anyone know of any way to fix this? Or why the hell it's happening?

I'm surprised it can run Minecraft. A G3 wouldn't though.

Yeah, I know right? But it has a 1.42Ghz processor and 1gb of ram, so it's within the bounds power wise.
Now to get the stupid sound to work :|

EDIT: Just tried minecraft on windows again, and I was FLOORED by the level of realism in the sounds.
Yet another reason to get this fixed.
