Ok now I have looked into that ASRock and well, there are a lot of reviews making me look elsewhere. Last thing I want is a DOA motherboard. does anyone know of a motherboard with more or less the same specs but with not as many horrid reviews?

Don't pay too much attention to newegg reviews. Beyond some of them being out-and-out BS, people are more likely to give bad reviews and [censored] if something bad happens than they are to give it good reviews if it works perfectly. Reviews to pay attention to are like the hardware review sites - Tweaktown, Tom's Hardware, Anandtech, and similar. Tom's Hardware and Tweaktown are the two I usually look at. But if you're spooked on ASRock, then go for Asus. P8Z68-V line, or similar.
