She has to wait for the pair to disappear up the stairs before she can attempt to follow behind.
It is a sad fact of life that people see things in a very limited way. Sure, the pair of thugs bringing up the rear could have seen Sylvi, in fact they probably did- out of the corner of their eyes. However, walking as one of the many servants here and carrying a bottle the same way meant that she never registered on their consciousness. Just another drudge among many, you are beneath their notice. And the drumming of their iron-tipped boots on the stairs covers the noise of anyone coming up behind them.

That means leading them along the railed overhang, and past the rooms-

Suddenly, a door bursts open and the floozy that accosted Tycho last night bawls out; "Whats with all the {censored] {censored!!!!] noise out here at this time of morning!"
She came out between Annaria and the Templar, and that Templar rears back as if he is about to cast a violent spell. The possibility of running into the mage on the way seems to have escaped Tycho's considerations.
Well, Annaria's turn saved you from that, but at the very same moment.... yeah, you know that voice.
You can't see her, it is all happening just around the corner, but you can see the last Thug, he is staring at something that has his attention .... for now. All he would have to do is turn his head to see you, he just made it to the top of the stairs.
The Thug would also have to turn around to see the other person Tycho observes; Sylvi is coming up behind him with a wine-bottle held as if she is going to use it as a club..

Sylvi failed to notice the pair were part of the Templar's party until she was already on the stairs. She can't risk striking the Templar in a blind spot now, so now it's time to fall back on the innocent server girl act until she can find Raimius and Rita.

She'll follow quietly until their paths ultimately diverge from one another, hanging her head and focusing more on the floor than the people surrounding her.
Phaing wrote:Angry lady distraction!
Using this sudden outburst to her advantage, Sylvi decides now is the best time to slip away unnoticed. While the idea of whacking someone was rather tempting she knew better than to start a fight she'd lose before the first thug registered the blow.

No, now was not the time for such hasty decision making. Not on her part anyway.

As she peels away around the corner, she catches a glance of Tycho standing in front of Raimius's door; and she was more than happy to see him. She gives a slight head bob towards the door, trying to get Tycho to open up the room and meet her inside. She doesn't change the pace of her walk, or say anything aloud at risk of drawing attention to either of them. Got to keep it nice a subtle.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Being startled at first by the woman, she quickly collected herself, accepted the distraction, and continued her path as if she really did have an important job to do and waiting to the templars catch up would make things worse for her. She has a sly smile on her face, as that woman may have just allowed her to escape unnoticed.

(Time to bring her sneakiness into play)

She will try to slip out of view as soon as possible. Whether it's an open door, a really dark shadow, or another corridor, she will try to slip in while the Templars aren't looking. If it is a room she finds, she will close the door swiftly, but quietly

Tycho furrows his brow in frustration upon overhearing the woman's indignation. She's just adding to the noise - but at least it will draw attention. He figures that's probably all she was after in the first place. He glances briefly in that direction, and his eyes widen when he sees Sylvi about to hit someone with a large bottle, out of both surprise to see her conscious and worry that she might draw the attention of the Templar, and he more urgently walks to Raimius' room.

He glances back in her direction a couple of times, just to make sure she wasn't actually about to bludgeon someone, and when he does catch her attention, Tycho's expression remains angry and almost hostile. He reaches a hand out in her direction, motioning silently but forcefully for her to come to Raimius's door. He knocks 3 times on the door - a little louder than he was hoping for due to the metal gauntlets on his hands - and waits for a response. He does not acknowledge Sylvi at all, apart from beckoning her over, as he stands there gloomily.

That works, up to a point -

Well, that is the problem with this spot you are in; visible from the ground floor and so are the stairs up to the 3rd floor. However, the next door down is cracked open.
Inside is a man wearing trousers and a swordbelt that is reaching for his coat. He has already thrown open the window and is in a hurry. You can hear the commotion just as clearly in here... this is a suite of rooms and the connecting door is open.

The Templar is only distracted for a moment, and he is having none of this garbage. People who pull stunts like this are rarely willing to cross a certain line, so the Templar simply reaches out and yanks the nightie off the bimbo and tosses it over the railing. Her retreat is helped along by a swift kick to the rear, sending her tumbling to an even noisier crash into her furniture.
The hat goes flying, and rolls into the side-room where its real owner snatches it up, and in doing so he notices Annaria.

Sorry, sometimes the dice just don't like you.

That coat is silk-lined and embroidered with bullion, worth more than a commoner's house. He could be a minor noble, and being caught here would not be very good for his reputation... unless he was able to help a Templar out.
He draws his sword, a slender Rapier with a jeweled hilt, and announces; "I believe the one you are looking for is in here!"

Noticing the hostile nature of Tycho's expression, Sylvi assumes that those feelings are directed primarily at her, possibly blaming her for all this; especially once he starts gesturing for her to hurry things along. Although she stops herself from making any gestures of displeasure, the frown upon her brown might be enough to get her point across.

Sylvi grabs Tycho's hand forcefully after the third knock, tugging it toward her so he'd look at her. "<Don't knock, idiot!>" Sylvi mouths as she stands next to the enchanter. "<Do you want to draw attention to yourself?"

She lets go, almost throwing the limb back at it's owner. She gives him a heated glance whist griping the door knob firmly in her hand, turning it effortlessly. "<It's unlocked.>"

Once inside, Sylvi drops the calm an collected act and tosses the bottle carelessly onto the bed. She rushes to the bedside before wrapping her hands around Raimius's shoulders; shaking him vigorously while frantically shouting at him in hushed whispers.

"Get up! Get up now, Raimius! Rita is in danger! The Templar are here! Where is she?!"

Should he fail to rise from that alone, she may have to resort to giving him a smack or two. Not that she'd enjoy doing it, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Whelp, probably no talking out of this one.

Her hand is still close to her dagger, but she doesn't draw it just yet. She still wants a bit of surprise. She doesn't flee just yet. She holds her ground, keeping an eye on the man and both doors for the templar, but in a stance where she can easily strike with a seconds need. A plan was already taking shape in her head for how to escape, and it would include getting the others' attention.

He doesn't see this ending well.

Lucky for Tycho, he no longer needs to pretend to seethe. He's quietly livid. His arm never went limp - it's still hovering in a fist just above the door, and the glare he's giving the inoffensive piece of carpentry makes it seem as though he's about to try and punch his way through.

He inhales, and lowers his still clenched, subtly trembling fist. "Just... follow me inside," he whispers through his teeth.
Phaing wrote:That works, up to the point where that last thug happens to glance over in that direction, still laughing. Sylvi is just slipping inside, and he locks eyes with Tycho, his laughter hiccups to an end and he squints at you.
Tycho had paid this stare no thought until Sylvi had grabbed his arm. There was no doubt in his mind that the thug saw that exchange - and even if he hadn't, it would be dangerous to assume so. This required a new plan, and fast.
The Rookie wrote:Once inside, Sylvi drops the calm an collected act and tosses the bottle carelessly onto the bed. She rushes to the bedside before wrapping her hands around Raimius's shoulders; shaking him vigorously while frantically shouting at him in hushed whispers.

"Sylvi!" he whispers loudly. "We need to be quiet - people could easily be listening. It's clear to me that you are unaware of our current cover - but we may not have enough time to explain it now." He quietly locks the door and, after some struggling (he really should learn how to do this properly), manages to get his mask and hood up, his visor down, and his sword drawn.

He has trouble holding the sword steady, and there's a faint red glow fluctuating randomly from both his gauntlets and the sword. His breathing is shaky and rapid. It's safe to say that he wasn't trembling in anger earlier - he's absolutely terrified.

Well, strictly speaking, Rita should still be in her room, not that Sylvi would know where that one is.

Raimius comes up out of the bed like he was just catapulted, landing in his boots with both feet and hauling his sword out from behind the headboard. He blinks the sleep out of his eyes quickly and looks around.
He nods to Tycho as if to say nice job.
"Sylvi?" He looks back. "Ah, good. You stuff is behind the curtain."
To either of them; "How many and where-"

The door to the hall opens again, Thug #2 is the one opening it, and as soon as he sees Annaria he calls back to the Templar "Yup, she ducked in here. Heh heh... seems like she is in need of a rescue." To the man in the room with her; "You wanna relax that little pig-sticker, yer Lordship?"

The Templar sneers at the arrogant harlot, who landed sitting in the wash-basin with a lampshade covering her head; "You just stay right where you are unless you want to land in our dungeon." and slams that door shut. "Now, where were we? Ah yes, so our little Fox is trying to be clever and evade us, aye? Such a pity." A green glow starts to come from him, a magical evocation, but then he asks, amused. "Oh? A rescue now? This is certainly turning out to be an entertaining morning."

Meanwhile, the Thug at the corner is snapping his fingers and quietly trying to get the Templar's attention, with increasing frustration.
"boss.... psst.... hey, BOSS!" A shake of the chains does the trick, and now he is done with speaking quietly. "I think I just saw the Wolf, and the leader of this crew... down that way!"

The Templar huffs. "Naturally. Lozen, we no longer have any pressing need for the Fox. Vol, give me some space."

Sylvi doesn't waste time with pleasantries, not even as much as a smile. "Three at least. One in white robes, two dressed more like thugs; couldn't tell if they were magic users or just muscle from the glance I had."

Sylvi begins to strip off her borrowed loose and baggy clothing and begins to give it back to Raimius. For her to fight or run in them would only cause a great risk to tripping or getting snagged on something. Besides, if they are to escape that'd mean evacuating outside, where Raimius would likely freeze in the nude. While she'd be extremely uncomfortable mentally, she'd live.

She stares daggers are Tycho as she goes to lift her shirt, and he'd better damn well look away while she changes.

//I'm uncertain just what pieces of her clothing were taken away to be washed/been returned. Is it safe to assume her heavy coat and bandoleer are waiting behind the curtain, or is today going to get that little bit worse for her?//

Once the thug comes into view, she grabs the hilt of her dagger, but still not drawing it (looks like she just has a fist in her pocket, unless someone is actually looking for something), waiting for the perfect moment to strike the one that looks like the leader. Once he comes into view though, she hesitates a moment after seeing the green glow, gripping her dagger tighter with fear. She didn't know if she should go for the strike with that, and was about to until...

Her planned surprise attack could still be useful, especially with the others nearby.

He wraps some of that around his hips, even putting his sword down at a time like this is better than scandalizing the young girls in the building. However -

Her planned surprise attack could still be useful, especially with the others nearby.
The dandy with the sword isn't impressed, but he is a bit frightened by what he sees going on behind you. That thug didn't leave, he has a mask pulled up over his face with a sigil embroidered into it. He is opening and closing the door, fanning it and helping the green gas into the room you are standing in.
It doesn't smell very good, but it does make you feel kinda giggly.

"I mean, I could freeze it shut, but then we've got no way out." Sylvi says as she fiddles with clothing and such, growing increasingly frustrated with their predicament. "We could be safe, but there's nothing stopping them from getting Rita or Ana while we're in here. We'd be leaving them to die."

"No, we aren't waiting for THEM to make a move... where did you get all that stuff?" And to Sylvi; "Your spear is back there too. And don't worry about the cold, we aren't leaving just yet. We are taking over this establishment." He grins at them both.
"Nobody has had breakfast yet, have they? The Stagecoach does not leave until after breakfast. All we have to do is-"
"Breakfast?! You're thinking about food at a time like this?! We need to grab the others and make a break for it-" Her voice trails off as she catches the scent of the strange intrusive odor spilling into the room. She begins visibly sniffing around until her nose leads her to the doorway.

"Urghh... What's that?" She asked, pointing towards the smoke.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

A look of triumph forces its way onto her face when she sees that the man is frightened, until she notices that he is looking behind her, not at her. She didn't notice the one thug staying. After smelling the smoke, she turned around to see the gas and the thug fanning it in. She tries to pull her shirt over her muzzle in time (as you should never trust any gas, let alone green), but not doing it quite fast enough as she starts giggling, and given the circumstances tries to contain it but can't help letting one out every now and then. She tries to bolt out the door quickly, pushing on the thug's face (I hope he's shot enough for a 5'3" fox to push in the face) with one hand and trying to pull off his mask in the process, and her other hand keeping her shirt over her face to lessen the exposure to the gas. Whether pulling off the mask works or not, she will try to get to the others' rooms, first Rita's with the knowledge that Anaraia was the only one with her before she went downstairs.
