Miranda covered her mouth with her sleeve as she followed them a bit slowly, she held her robe over her body with her free hand. However, unbeknownst to those she was following, she was not exactly eager to risk tearing her bandages over the shattered window panes from the large knight's vault.

She gathered magic into her palms as she first of all didn't want to waste time fumbling through the window, and two, she didn't want to waste time in this smoke period.

With barely a softball sized spell in her palm, it boosted into a cantalope in size with a bit of urging from Miranda. She put it right in the window and made it blast sideways, pushing upwards and to the sides in an attempt to blast the wall around the window out to make her own doorway. The blast would shatter the walls around it, but kept the blast facing towards the other wall around it, the magic stopping at just large enough to walk through while keeping the rafters that were previously supported by wall from falling by shifting them into force shields.

"Shall we?" she said with a soft, uneasy smile as she dashed through, holding the spell long enough for everyone to get out before dissipating it at a safe distance and leaning against a tree for a moment to get a good deep breath of fresh air.

John was left standing in the middle of the dining area when the rare exit collapsed behind Bryers, leaving him without a known means of escape.

However, as he watched the heroines and the colossus through the dense smoke, John saw as three had found a way out, while the forth had cleared an opening to join them in their exodus.

John, realising this may be his only chance for survival, hurried to Miranda’s side. “Shall we?” the bandaged mage asked, keeping the spell stable for the pair to escape.

John nodded in agreement. There was too little precious time to be wasted on words. Instead he simply took off through the opening, checking back every few steps to make sure Miranda was still following behind; Making his way for the nearby tree line, unsure where the other three had disappeared to.

The pair quickly managed to make it to edge of the dense forest nearby. It was pitch black past the few metres illuminated by the burning inn behind them. The shrubbery and closely knit foliage would provide an excellent hiding spot for even the largest member of the party.
There was little time to rest, however. After what must have been on a few seconds of rest, John’s ears flickered just before he tackled Miranda into a nearby bush. Covering her mouth while pressing a finger to his own. A terrified expression in his eyes as they darted around the vegetation surrounding them.
Shhh. We're not alone.” he said in a hushed whisper, before removing his hand.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
