Looking up from his leaning position and said playfully, nope! I'm guarding this here train station! I kid I kid, yea, hq sent me out cause I'm the second er... Biggest now, Ninetails vs in the area, everyone else is off blowing [censored] up... Or getting blown up. Anyways. piping himself off the vs he smiled and reached out his paw for a... Paw-hand- shake... Thingy, The names Shane, heavy weapons platform operator for Ninetails.

Matthew gave a short chuckle before he took the offered paw and gave it a firm hand shake. The man seemed to be bit of a joker, but knew where to draw the line. His eyes quickly looked over the anthro's VS out of habit looking at both it's strengths and possible weaknesses.

"It's nice to meet you Shane and impressive machine you got there."

Then Matthew heard and saw an armored man approaching them asking if they were working on the escort job also. He looked to be some sort of Freelancer, an unknown for Matthew.

"Yeah, I was given the job from Booker Corp., what about you, where are you from stranger?"

Smiling Shane turned and saw the man, immediately angered, he recognized the armor, this man had destroyed and stolen ninetails vs'. And he just HAD to be on this mission. Shaking his head he looked up and saw a conductor, Or something like that, saying they could move their vs' over to the front. Smiling at mathew he stated, Might be a good idea to move man, this thing isn't the most graceful in small areas. Saying this Shane kicked off on the ground and sailed up onto the edge of the cockpit, bowing and smiling... Before slipping and falling back into his chair. Starting up Overlord 3 he waited the thirty seconds it took for the systems to warm up.

Matthew simply nodded and took the man's advice and stepped well out of the way of the hulking VS. He couldn't help but notice that Shane definitely didn't like the sight of the freelancer, there had to be some sort if history between the two. Something to keep in mind if he was to consider him a possible ally.

Hopping down from his vs Shane smiled and walked over to the other cluster of people, standing by a vs with rotors and such, smiling he stopped, seeing a few nevec symbols, STAR, and the such he put on his nice face. Good day ladies and gentlemen, I'm Shane pleasure to meet you, now might I ask whom you would be?

The, hostile, reaction from the ninetails boy was expected but at least he wasn't very vocal about it.
To the other man, the BC one, he turned and faced him after moving away from the path of the vs.
I'm Isaiah, but you can call me 'fox'. I'm a freelancer, but I've pulled a few jobs for nerv, Which explains why my reputation precedes me with some... He said, nodding at the ninetails vs moving away from them.

Seems like we'd better get moving ourselves, I'll see you on the train. Isaiah said before heading back over to his own (ex)ninetails VS and pulling the cockpit down, he hopped in and the cockpit raised and locked. The VS powered up quickly with a whirr or mechanical parts. Turning the thing around Isaiah moved it towards the train at a steady pace.

As he went along he thought for a moment. "Looks like I'll have to keep an eye on that ninetails one, he seems to recognize me... Oh well, when you kill a few of their people and take their toys to sell off to their arch rivals I guess such a reputation can't be helped. I just hope the rest of them don't catch on too quickly to the fact that I've done so much work for Nerv I might as well be one of them. He said to himself as he walked his, agile, light VS onto the train.

Carter could only stare forlornly at the human jogging off as he fumbled for words. "I- but I just... I'm cold-blooded!" He yelled at the retreating figure. Great, now I just sound kinda desperate. He eyed the massive mech attempting to enter the hangar and backed out. This place was too crowded as it was. He threw a salute to it, then stopped as he noticed the odd power armour on its shoulder. "Lots of PA users here, eh?" Carter exclaimed, waving. "That's some different-looking armour. Where'd you get it?"

The armoured figure slowly gazed down at Carter, apparently taking their time to look over him. About a half minute later the figure turned back to where they had been previously, apparently deciding not to answer, respond, or even acknowledge Carter's question.

Corinthian stopped to look at the smaller VS, Kate resisting the urge to laugh as Neet responded in her trademark manner- By ignoring the person. With a few flicks of various switches, Kate's coms were on a shortwave universal frequency. She disliked the PA systems.

"Sorry about that, she isn't very talkative."

If Carter was lost for words before, it was nothing compared to now. Did she... just entirely ignore him? "I see." He put it simply, letting his displeasure seep through the comm (Intentionally or not). "I was just thinking, we, um-" He paused and tried to see this woman's visor better. "Um, sorry, it's really hard to see that high. Anyways, I was just looking at the time, and I figured we should get going to the Train. Guess I might as well learn new faces along the way."

"Hmm..." Kate pondered the flustered man's offer, swallowing the urge to laugh at his bumbling manner. "I don't see why not. 'M Kate, and my tagalong friend there is Nítján." Corinthian turned around with surprising grace for such a large VS, and began to leave the hangar. "Hope you can walk and talk."

Heh, Carter liked this girl already. "Oh, I'm sure I can keep up," he said, grinning under his helmet as he jogged away with the massive VS. "Anyways, um, my name's Carter. Carter Derrickson, Freelancer. You?"

"Already told you. Name's Kate, Kate Holmwood. Before you ask, no relation to Holmwood Construction," Kate spoke with no hesitation, so either it was true or something she had practiced many times before. "Most people just call me K. Also a freelancer, though this should be my last job as one."

... Right. That was stupid. Carter already knew her name. Why did he ask her again? Oh right, because he was a [censored]. Great first impression, Carter.

He decided to ask "K" about her job. "What do you mean, your 'last' job as a freelancer? Are you signing on with a team?"

"Trying to. Been dealing with Booker Corp lately, it's been hell trying to get a contract out of them that I'm satisfied with. Thinking about looking towards other job opportunities. Maybe STAR, or Nevec," Kate paused, recalling the roster for the mission. "Heard there were some Nevec guys who signed up. Combine that with the STAR presence, and I think I've got a decent chance for at least a good recommendation."

"Heh, yeah, but STAR and Nevec together? Somehow I can only see you getting a job over their dead bodies, if you get what I mean." He chuckled mirthlessly. "Personally, I'm not a fan of either, but then again, I've never exactly been on their good sides."

A crackle and a voice could be heard over the comm, the voice smooth. Oddly enough, the voice was free of any emotional inflection and it sounded as if the voice was stating established facts; though it was stating facts in this scenario.

"... Nítján... Eiskönigin... maid..."

"Decided to introduce yourself, Neet?" Kate chuckled. "I've done jobs for both before, so long as you know how to deal with them they're not too bad. Been a merc long?" She asked, deciding to switch subjects to him.

"Ah, so she does speak!" Carter attempted to give an elegant bow, an action which was foiled by his attempts to simultaneously walk and look several degrees upwards. Instead, he tripped, and had to resort to leaning on his sword for stability. He grimaced, yet again, under his helmet. "Heh, I'm not so steady on the ground, as you can see, but then again, the ground is my limit. To me, the sky is all the domain I need. For a while, I was the leader of a small clan called the Screaming Eagles. I dunno if you've heard of them; like I said, we were pretty small, but we were special. The Screaming Eagles were one of, if not the only aerial pirate clans in existence. Instead of duking it out on the ground, we fought from the skies, harvesting energy from the larger flying akrid, and generally doing pretty well. When the climate shifted, we took a beating, and now, I'm the only one left." He sighed disconsolately. "All I want is to fly again, and this job is going to give me the chance to get back on my feet. Or wings, as it were." He chuckled. Not often did he open up like that, considering his way with women.

"Flying, huh? Use a VS for that, or didja break out the antiques?" Kate grinned- Though she knew the expression was pointless. "I might be able to help you get your wings back. I'm good friends with a representative for Yamato Heavy Systems. They don't make any flying suits, but they do quality work and are always willing to try something new. Last I heard, they had just gotten set up for custom orders. Turns out my friend also gets bonuses on any custom orders made, so he'll be glad to help you out," She paused, mulling her own offer over. "Hell, with some prodding, I might even be able to get you into the tester's seat. Plus there's a discount if you drop my name. Or so he tells me."

"I'd appreciate that," replied Carter. "You're very generous." He looked over his shoulder at the loud man announcing the Train's arrival, and said, "We should probably dock in one of the hangars soon. Don't wanna be late!"

Once again, the comm crackled as it came online and Nítján's voice rung out, tone neutral as usual. If one were to look at her, they'd also notice an odd lack of body language which made deciphering and reading her nigh impossible. For all that could be seen, the armoured being on the shoulder of Kate's VS could have been a machine and nobody would be the wiser.

"... yes..."

"I've been getting that a lot lately. Am I going soft, Neet?" Kate looked towards the shoulder Nítján was perched on as she spoke, though her attention quickly returned to the train station ahead of them. While waiting for a response, she continued. "Yeah, we should probably pick up the pace. Don't want to get left behind."

Edward was shaken up from his half bored slumber by Para, seeing that there was an impressive number of Nevec symbols about, he decided to approach Shane himself. "Edward, or Ed if it pleases you. Impressive machine you have there, though it could use a wash." He gestured with his VS towards one of three massive train cars reserved for VSs. "How about we follow suite and enjoy the warmth of a nice train car?"

Shane's ears peaked up at the sound of the person talking to him. Turning he smiled and replied, A wash? Oh yes the akrid blood, I had a mission to complete about five hours ago... Leveled ten akrids, gave me a chance to test out my new weapon too. I'm Shane if you're wondering, only nine tails pilot here it seems. Pleasure to meet you, I agree, perhaps we should go inside.

"The only one?" Edward sounded thoroughly surprised, glancing towards where he saw Isaiah. "I could swear I saw another nine tails symbol on one of these, or was I that out of it?"

That'd be a distinct possibility, I know of a freelancer amongst us who destroys and plunders ninetails property, many a time stealing vs'. Yet he's not smart enough to remove the paint from the unit. I've been informed of his actions before but am not on orders to cause trouble so I shall not drag him into a ninetails holding cell until I am ordered as such.

"Fair enough. We both work on orders then." Edward led his VS into the train car, powering it down and hopping out. Taking a stretch and a yawn.

Smiling Shane replied, Always figured everyone but the freelancers did.

"Well... yeah." Edward shrugged and pointed at Shane's VS. "Does that clunker need help getting into the train?"

Smiling Shane slammed his foot on the ground with a playful look, Of course not! I was gunna talk first, here hold on. bolting to his vs he hit the start up sequence, walking it into the car, shaking the ground with each heavy step, turning it around and back stepping it into the car. Hopping down he cracked his back and smiled, By the way, what is your weapons setup? I need to know who's my fire support and such...

Edward patted the cannon on his VS. "This arm's been traded off for some firepower, a plasma launcher quite effective against groups and on the other side I've got an MG made to punch through anything that happens to be armored. Oh and..." He quickly climbed up to his VS cockpit and reached inside, pulling out his SMG. "... This little thing. If by any unlucky chance I get caught outside my suit." He slung the SMG on his back and continued. "Other than that, it's got no other armaments. Well armored and steady agility, it's sort of a jack-of-all-trades. It only asks for a good pilot." He turned towards Shane's VS observing it. "Yours looks more like a frontline heavy-hitter, am I right?"

Smiling Shane replied, heh, short range, medium range, long range, [censored] yo [censored] range, this thing can do it all. 90mm belt fed semi automatic sniper rifle, reload 1 second, rifled barrel gyro stabilized Sabot and depleted uranium rounds and so much more, shotgun, 10 loaded rounds per tube with 5 35mm ball bearings shell and a slug when needed. 2 missile pods containing 34 each from simple HE's up to HEAT's, and a ton of armor. The only thing it lacks is what yours has, maneuverability... Kinda, it's got specialized joints to help with the immense weight and to make it move quicker. Fast, check, turning, kinda check...

Edward laughed and knocked on Shane's VS. "Well, if it comes to a mess, you just stand back and I'll point out what to shoot at." He fixed his gloves and shrugged a bit. "Now come on, lets get into one of the cozier train cars, they must have SOME food there."

Shane nodded, One would assume as such, but with these missions you never know.
