Beep, beep, beep... beep, beep, beep...
It was the sound of an alarm. An alarm that's tri-tone would have sounded again had a fist not collided with it with tremendous force, reducing the alarm to a pile of scrap electronics.

Flick slowly woke up and opened her eyes... She looked around and saw that her new alarm was smashed to pieces. I've really got to stop putting those things so close to my bed she thought to herself. She slowly sat up, rubbing at the back of her neck once she'd gotten her upper body vertical. She always seemed to wake up with a stiff neck when she got a proper nights sleep.
Never mind the neck, Flick had work to do. She quickly got out of bed and got dressed in the dark, putting on her usual attire. A black flight suit, her scarf, her father's dog tags and of course her coat and pants. She opened the blinds hesitantly, letting the first glimpses of the suns rays into her massive bedroom.
Once her eyes had adjusted to the light she looked out at the city of Olivent from her large villa on the hill on the outskirts of the city, but still within the protected area of the planet. It was a beautiful city, especially at dawn and dusk, the buildings all shining like lights in the suns rays.
Snapping herself out of her daydream, Flick hurried down the stairs and grabbed herself a proper cup of coffee and her morning breakfast croissant. Eating and drinking as she walked, Flick arrived in the personal hanger attached to her villa and flicked on the power.
The hanger came to life, all the electronics buzzing and humming, powering up in preparation to save and analyse data. And there at the back of the hanger stood her best accomplishment yet... Delta-113.
Flick began striding purposefully towards D-113, "Delta-113 Activate" Flick called out as she was walking.
"Voice recognition initiated... voice accepted," came the mechanical voice that was D-113's central computer. "Activation complete."
Flick took a seat behind her computer consoles at the desk nearby D-113, "Begin diagnostics and uploads immediately."
"Diagnostic analysis and updates started." came the voice of D-113 again.

And now Flick just had to wait for 5-10 minutes while her machina completed its normal morning routine.

Kat wandered the halls of the ship, completely lost. "Jeez... this thing is massive..." She kept searching the hallways, trying her damnedest to find the crews quarters. "Oh wait.. I should have a map..." She pulled out a small electronic device that displayed the layout of the ship. As she stared at the screen, trying to make sense of where she was, she turned a corner and bumped into someone. The sudden stop caught her off guard and she lost her balance, falling yet again, onto her rump. "Ow... That's the second time this morning..." she grumbled, rubbing her lower back. Katrina looked up to see who she had run into and saw a woman with long white hair(Valeriya) standing over her. "Err.. sorry..."

Flick was sitting at her desk reading through the specifics for this escort assignment she'd been employed for. It seemed simple enough. Escort some rich guy from one side of Olivent to the other with no harm coming to him. How much trouble could possibly befall someone travelling through Olivent???

"Diagnostics and updates complete." Flick jumped out of her seat. She'd been daydreaming... yet again.
"Gotta stop doing that." She mumbled under her breath.
She then looked up at D-113, smiling, "Cockpit open."
There was a hiss followed by a mechanical hum as the hydraulics built into the cockpit canopy released the seal and then opened up to allow a pilot in.
Flick walked over and stepped into the hover lift she had installed infront of D-113 and within a few seconds was level with the cockpit of the mecha. She stepped inside and sat down, fastening the restraints. "Cockpit close, bring the systems online and give me a run down of the updates to all systems."
The mechanical hum was heard again as the cockpit closed and sealed.
"All systems online now. System updates include faster firing rate for all weapons, quicker stabilizer deployment, longer performance on all weapons and systems on back-up power and faster travelling speed in all methods."
Flick smiled once again and inserted her arms into the specially designed cavities in which the joysticks were located. "You really know what I want to hear when I ask for all system updates Delta. Now lets move out."
She pushed forward on her joysticks and began casually striding out of the hanger and set the fastest course towards the pick-up area.

Valeriya staggered back slightly before finding her balance. She extended a hand to help up Kat. "No problem. Would you be a pilot as well? I was on my way to the quarters. At least I think I was... Care to team up in navigating this place?"

Kat took the woman's hand and pulled herself to her feet. "Thanks." She picked up her map and looked back up at Valeriya. "Yeah, I'm a pilot, and I was trying to find my way around this place too. I'd love to go with you, and finding our quarters should be fairly easy with this..." Kat looked down at her device's screen only to see that it had shorted out. "Damn... never mind. Well, if we look together I won't be bored" she said with a smile. "Oh, by the way, my name's Katrina, my friends call me Kat."

"And I'm Valeriya. Gimme a sec..." Valeriya appears to stare into space for a second or so. "Now assuming this bears any real relation to the ship we are actually on then they are in this direction! I'm not making any promises though..."

Kat chuckled at Valeriya's statement. "Well, lead the way maestro. You seem to magically know where you're going" she added with a smirk. Kat shoved her map in her pocket, she'd find someone to fix it for her later.

Iggy was right, the inside of the ship WAS much cooler than the outside. After exploring the various halls and corridors of the ship he realized he was lost. "Well this is a fine how do you do, where is everybody?" Strangely there was no one else around. "Everyone must be busy loading up all the machinas. Eh, I'm bound to run into someone eventually." He continued along his way. After a few minutes he heard some voices around the corner, looking to see who is was, hew saw two girls talking to each other (Katrina and Valeriya)."Heh, i actually did find some people!" He rounded the corner and walked up to them, waving a quick hello. "Hiya, I take it you guys are the other pilots." he remarked.

ONE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE LATER

Markus got a message, probably some sort of e-mail, from the guy loading up the Machina. He never read it, thanks to Exodus he kinda already knew what it said. Exodus read things fast. They needed to load up his Cougar. Unhooking himself, Markus grabbed a single shard of metal, hanging by a fine chain in the cockpit. He stared at it silence before hanging it around his neck and climbing down to the hanger floor. The Cougar closed itself up and powered down, ready to be loaded onto the ship. "Suppose its my turn to get loaded."

Markus made his way onto the ship, passing a terminal along the way, Exodus whirred to life, and Markus found his mind flooded with some monotonous ship readouts. And a map.... Okay that might be useful. "....they gave me one of those yesterday... where did I put it?" Then he remembered something sitting on his end table back in his room. "....Okay Exodus, what gives? Aren't you supposed to be a computer? How do I still forget stuff?"

The computer simply whirred as it mapped out the fastest path to Markus' quarters.

"Sometimes I hate you." Markus set out on this path, mumbling to himself. He passed by a trio of people talking (Iggy, Katrina, and Valeriya). "You guys wandering? Find anything fun yet?"

Flick was paying close attention to her scanners, hating the fact that the fastest way to the pick-up location was around the outskirts of Olivent. It meant that she had to be on guard incase any of the native "creatures" showed up, not that it was a very common occurrence, but one that required exercising caution none the less.

Flick looked away from her scanners as the mechanical voice sounded in her cockpit "Target zone coming into view now."
Flick looked through her front display and could, in fact, see the spaceport. She pulled back on her joysticks and brought the mecha back to a walking pace as she approached.

"All personnel, please report to your designated stations. The Gravitas is taking off."

Aside from the voice, it was hard to tell that the ship was lifting off-the whole process was silent, and the ship didn't even shake as it lifted away from Matthew towards the stars.

"Reading you loud and clear, Knight 11. Just try to keep pace as we head out of the atmosphere, and keep your EW suite off for now. Wouldn't want any mishaps with the comms, after all."

**********

Dr. Hale was waiting outside the spaceport when his escort showed up.
"Well, that's an awful lot of guns for a young lady like yourself..." he adjusted his glasses slightly and gave the machina now towering over him a decent sizing up. It wasn't what he had expected, but if things did go south, melee wouldn't exactly be an option with what they would be up against.
"Open up. We're short on time and I don't have the money for a cab. I hope you don't mind sharing a seat."

"Hey, nice to meet other pilots. We were actually trying to find where the quarters are. You're welcome to come along of course. I'm fairly sure I have a good guess where they are.

Flick popped the canopy and slid down the now descending ladder. She walked up to Dr. Hale. "So you're the client that I'm picking up? Hop on up. There's a second seat behind the pilots seat. Not exactly roomy but better than nothing."
She pointed to the ladder and stepped aside to let the doc up first

Kat looked at all the new faces and decided to introduce herself. "Hey guys, I'm Kat-" She cut of mid-sentence as the announcement played over the loudspeaker. "Looks like we'll have to cut the pleasantries short and find out rooms."

"I second that motion." Vincent replied. "But in which direction should we start looking? I saw we look..." covered his eyes quickly and pointed in a random direction, uncovering his eyes he saw he was pointing down a southward leading hallway "...That way. Any objections?"
