Age of Steam! The Brass Voyage.

#1 Post by the red soldier »

The streets of Vezuli, you couldn't find a place with this many stalls and shops. Everywhere you look, as far as the eye can see, there was traders bargaining, trading, gold being thrown around and people making or losing there lifes savings in deals, thats Vezuli, the golden throne, the city of business. Mercenaries walked the streets, looking for employments, Fat cats drove in there golden trimmed chariots as they snubbed people in there way as musicians sing and played songs for hand out, filling the streets with music and joy.

Near the shipyards of the city, a massive party was underway for the maiden voyage of a magnificient ship. Countless dock workers rushed like busy ants to get everything finished in time as the watchmans and supervisors kept blowing there whistles in a frantic frenzy. A special area was addressed for nobles and that of the upper class as everyone enjoyed fine wine and pastries as the sun flashed on the side of the magnificient ship. As the small party went underway, everyone suddenly shot up as a golden carriage came along, several guards formed on both sides as a butler slowly opened the door. "Ladies and gentlemen, may I present you our most honored guest this evening. The fabulous, beautiful Countess Valenza Eria De Giacomo." As this young women climbed out of the carriage, her elegant steps were met with cheers from not only the nobles but everyone in the crowds who could see her. "My my gentlemen, no need for such an introduction for little old me." She said with a small smirk asshe gave a wink to the young noblemen, most almost falling unconscious as there wives grew envious eyes.

The honored guest went straight to a fancy black dressed man after a few bows and such who didn't much care for her presence. "Ha, Prime Minister Velenzio, I didn't thought you would show up." "Nice to see you too Lady Como." After sitting down next to him, they both looked at the brassheart. "So, what brings you of all people here? You were always a man of the people. This show of wealth always frustrated you." He stayed in a serious tone, he clearly wasn't here to fool around. "Frankly Lady Como, I am here to ensure diplomatic relations with our oldest of neighbors doesn't get tarnished even more then it is." Lady Como stood a bit confused, he didn't really mean what she thought he ment, did he? "Are you saying that the ego maniac himself is coming here?!" The Prime minister simply pointed towards the east, a massive zeppelin, a flying fortress, was being escorted by several squadrons of Republic Gyrocopters, this flying fortress seemed adorned with fancy decoration of black, crimson red and gold. "Oh bugger..."

MEANWHILE

As the dockworkers busied themselves getting everything ready , one man stood out as an air of authority yet an air of calm surounded him. Everyone looked at him with respect and honor. "Ah, capn sir! the new arrivals be arriving shortly sir!" The captain simply nodded as he watched the new crew slowly coming in one by one. Some of them showed promise but others worried the good captain. "Honestly, this "brass voyage call" was a bad idea on the Countesses part. I've never seen such a crew of riff raffs and missfits." Suddenly, the sun seemed to be blocked by something, the captain looked upwards only to see a giant Emblem of the infamous Lyxordom on the side of a flying fortress. "Grrreeeaaat... Just what we needed..."

Mitch was preoccupied below deck, tinkering with his latest contraption, a little clockwork bird, capable of flight, at least that was his goal. Suddenly, he heard a squad of gyrocopters buzzing overhead. He quickly covered his workbench with a cloth and headed above deck. As he poked his head out of the stairwell leading down, he pushed his goggles up to his forehead and gaped in awe. Not at the ships overhead, but into the crowd as he had spotted Lady Como. He quickly shook his head, punched himself in the arm, and looked skyward to observe the massive zeppelin above them. "Woah... And I thought this ship was the biggest I'd ever seen..." Mitch carefully walked up the last of the steps and skated to get a better view, moving up closer to where the captain was.

Seemingly out of thin air and with no telling sounds of approach, a man a little shorter than the captain stood right next to him. Clothed from head to toe in black and dark crimson as if arriving straight from Lyxordom, and his head covered with a full brim hat and the birdbeak mask of a plague doctor, his neck craned as well to watch the zeppelin gently float in front of and occlude the sun. Dr. Glazdon Terivellum remained completely silent as the blimp continued on its way, the doctor's two extra-large briefcases sitting on the ground on either side of him.

(For the sake of maintaining physics and such, I'm gonna call that Mitch climbs up out of the ship immediately after if that's cool with you.)

Rosa and Aeon's POV
Rosa was lying on top of the ship, attempting to take a nap when a giant zeppelin appeared, blocking out the sun. She shot up and stared at it. "Tch~ Well [censored]. This day just keeps getting better and better. Man I wish I could start an adventure without some crazy stuff happening. Of course then again, if the crazy stuff didn't happen, it wouldn't be an adventure, would it?" She started speaking out loud to no one in general and realized that she was ranting. She quickly climbed down from her perch to where the captain was. "Say, sir, what's up with that big ship up there?"

Meanwhile, below decks, Aeon pushed open the top of the crate he hid himself in. He quickly took off his clothes and folded them before switching modes. His frame expanded as his 'skin' tore and retracted itself. He quickly stretched a bit before running off to hide deeper in the ship.

As people went in and out of the ship, performing their pre-launch preparations or whatever else was needed of them, Dom stood at attention off to the side of the main boarding ramp, keeping a watchful eye for any trouble makers or any problems among those coming on board. His appearance drawing both confused and angry looks from those who bothered to pay him any attention.
The crossbow slung across his back and the sword at his hip show him to be a warrior, and most on board had no knowledge of his services to the Ther, but all knew of the past actions of his other Sylvan kin.
As a shadow comes over the area, his hand moves to grasp his swords hilt, while he turns his head upward to see the fortress flying overhead.

Necro calmly slid his foil out of the ship workers neck, wiped it clean, and sheathed it. He checked the workers body and found his prize. He unfolded the map of Vezuli, and the ship dock circled onto it. He followed the map precisely to his destination. Spotting the service duct, he checked around and made sure he was alone. He slipped inside and went through his mental checklist, everything he had been working for soon coming to a front. It wont be long now. This ship is something of a wonder, and I will make it this city's curse he thought to himself. He covered himself in a large black cloak that seemed to be absorbing the light itself, and put a purple cloth over his eyes. From an untrained eye, the cloth seemed to make him appear older. He walked through the grand halls of the ship, and nonchalantly blended in with a crowd of excited people making there way around the giant vessel. He watched as a crowd started to form around one of the bay windows. His curiosity piqued, he looked out. He was quite surprised to see the Lyxor ship, but he quickly dismissed the thought. Just another pawn in my set. Fate won't be able to save the Lyxors either! He walked away from the scene, not wanting to ruin his opportunity of having everyone be distracted.

Without looking away from the scene unfolding before him, Mitch reached into his back pocket and pulled his pliers out, handing them to the talking wolf. It wasn't until it took them that he realized what had asked him for the pliers. He looked down at the creature and tilted his head quizzically to the side. "What the..? Are you some kind of machine, or have I gone crazy..?"

"Don't worry about it. I'm fairly used to seeing strange things like that." Mitch shook his hand and smiled. "Name's Mitchel Clayton, friend's call me Mitch or Clay, nice to meet you." He pointed down at his skates and smirked, "you and I may get along pretty well, I love tinkering with stuff. Made these myself."

Lady Como

The flying fortress started to descend as somekind of contraption detached on a part of it. It started flying on its own as it slowly descended towards the nobles party. The once laughing and cheery crowd of nobles was now somber and shaking in there boots, this was the Imperator himself and they all knew it. As the ship landed on front, a door opened and a dozen Archun cast sorcerers climbed out, conferming that it was indeed the Imperator, forming a line on both sides much similar to Lady Como's intrance. "Theres enough sorcerers here to level the entire city..." Lady Como said to herself. "Not an exaggeration either Lady Como and less I remind you that the most dangerous of the group hasn't even come out yet."

Captain Alev

The good captain continued to watch, the sight of the seemingly souless Archun cast sorcerers made him uneasy. He looked at the Neko girl, such a race bothered him because he didn't quite know what to think of them, for the mix of Sylvan and human. "You are whitnessing the Grand Imperator's royal visit young girl, a sight you wont probably see again in your entire lifetime." He turned his head again, to notice the good plague doctor standing there, only to jump in surprise. "GOOD GODDESS MAN! Dont sneak up on someone like that, certainly not when your wearing a plague doctors uniform!"

Glazdon actually jumps a little as well from the captain's immediate reaction, his hands moving up into karate-like defensive positions. XD After a second and the captain's comment however, the doctor lowers his hands and shrugs silently. Glazdon then turns, watching as the sorcerers file out and into formation in front of the Imperator's transport, all of them now waiting to see his grand entrance.

Rosa and Aeon's POV
Rosa chuckled underneath her breath. "I have serious doubts about that." She coughed and continued to keep up the ditz act. "So who's the grand imperator again? Is he important? Or something?" She adjusted the blades on her back and looked around. The Doctor seemed somewhat weird but then again, who was normal on this boat? Rosa could only wish she knew where Aeon was right now.

Meanwhile, below deck Aeon spotted two people and a wolf talking. He clung to the shadows in an attempt to hide himself as he listened in on their conversation.

Dom watched as the sorcerers came out of the ship, moving to stand on the entry ramp to get a better look. He draw his crossbow, holding it low, just in case anything happened. He had heard that one of the Lyxordom was likely to be a guest on the ship, but didn't think it would be a member of their high family.
Dom turns away to head back into the ship, replacing the crossbow on his back, then he starts his way deeper in, walking the halls and testing his memory of he ship.
He carried a multilevel map of the ship, but didn't need it too often, his memory keeping him from getting lost.
He comes across a group of guests walking down a hall and steps to the side, letting them pass, noticing a slight smell of blood, drawing his attention to the old man (Necro) in the group. He steps forward after the group passes, putting a hand on the man's shoulder.
"Sir, are you okay?" he asks in a calm voice, hoping for the man to not be alarmed at his appearance.

Necro flinched at the idea of being touched by an animal, however he has rehearsed his manner as Mathias many times and quickly gains composure. "Not at all child, I was just getting myself acquainted with the vessel." He said with an old grin. Necro felt his words come out at a slower pace then when he rehearsed them. He could feel the presence the Sylvan had, and it amused him. He figured that the wolfman had potential to become a threat, but Necro had dealt with threats his entire life. He could handle himself. "You know, I've spent my entire life a monk. So this is the first time I've ever ridden in a ship before, could you perchance give me a map? My brittle bones can't handle much of another journey through a ship of this immense size." He chuckled. I'll make sure to exterminate you first, you vile cur. he spat in his mind. His arm flexed out of habit whenever he was infuriated.

Dom smiled at the man, reaching into a pocket to pull out a his maps, glancing at them to determine which sections he had and would need later. He pulls out a couple maps of the living areas and some of the areas o the town that a passenger would likely visit.
He hands the mans the maps and puts away the rest, looking back at the man. "Is there anything else that I could help you with?"
he forces the edges of his mouth to curve up, forming a more human smile, then turning to look out the window, while waiting for the man's reply.

Mitch took the small cylinder from Scar and quickly examined it. He turned it over a few times in his hands and without looking up, replied, "it appears to be some sort of explosive, and judging from the shape, I'd have to say it's either a 'Screamer' or a flash-bang. I'm putting my money on 'Screamer.'" He pulled a small multi-tool out of a pocket on the leg of his pants and flipped it open to a screwdriver with one hand. He then proceeded to make a few adjustments to the device and handed it back to the man. "There, if I'm as good as people say I am, then that thing should be perfect."

((OOC: Hand a toy like that to that kid and he won't hesitate to fix it or mess with it =P Oh yeah, and he calls whistling willies screamers cause he's never heard the other name.))
