Echos of the living

#1 Post by the red soldier »

The dark sky, the cold weather, the bleak, grey landscape, this was the normal world these days. A lone girl seemed to be walking in a small town, seemingly staying in dark corners to stay hidden. Another empty town, another trip alone. "I should have expected this..." The girl said to herself. "I hope I at least find an unrotten corpse..." It was better to ignore that part of her, it would be better for your mentality. Continuing down the main street, there was a tall building in the middle of town, probably city hall of the town before the flash. "Maybe theirs something useful in there"

Moving closer to the building, she peeked in the front door, which seemed smashed to pieces. In the hall, she noticed to corpses just laying there, the blood wasn't even dry around it yet. "Jackpot!" She said happily under her breath. Taking out her axe, she quickly closed in, a big smile on her face when she noticed something wrong, these bodies were a bit to fresh, like still bleeding out fresh. "This isn't good..." "IIIIzzzyyy..." The girl quickly turned around when something called out her name in a dark heavy voice, this 7 feet tall giant in a brown trench coat, miners gas mask and hard hat just stood there, staring. The girl, "Izzy", didn't move, she knew what would happen if she screwed up now, kinda wished it was a menterrier instead.

The staring contest lasted maybe 5 minutes when Izzy made the mistake of blinking, next thing she knew a pick axe ticked her left ear, ripping part of it off as the building began to shake violently by the giants heavy footsteps as he ran her way at surprising speed, Izzy half expected him to simply walk slowly her way in a dramatic fashion. Izzy only had the instincts to run away but she only got about one meter before her neck began to squeeze between the fingers of the giant man. "IIIzzzyyy... eheheh..." Life began to fade away from her as she gasped for breath, it seemed that was it for her journey, just another corpse on the ground. Then, hope came from an unexpected form, a widoe mantis, right behind the giant man, crawled on the ceiling, ready to pounce.

It all happened in a flash, a deafening scream followed by her tumbling and wobbling away from the town hall into the main street. She wasn't to sure what exactly happened but was sure glad to be out of that building as she seemed to have trouble staying on her feet.

Anderson was sleeping in his wreaked penthouse apartment he had claimed. he heard some rumbling noises "humph better not be those bloody zombies again" he stood up and grabbed his axe and machete. He walked down the stairs to see three zombies like being prowing the ground floor but something was different about them they weren't like ordinary zombies or like the great beasts he once incountered "hmmm something's up." he muttered to himself he swung his axe at the closes one before it notice him and Splat goo poured everywere out of the head wound the other two ran towards him he retrieved his axe and said " What! they are running? Ha have had this fun in ages." he swung the axe and buied it in one's chest the he pulled the machete from his belt and ripped out half the other's throat. he watched them bleed slowly and he grabbed his grear and walked up back towards his apartment.

A young man in a baseball cap and slightly battered clothes rummaged through a building, hoping to find anything useful. "Eureka!" He held a sledgehammer above his head triumphantly and smiled. "This oughta make scavenging easier, and it'll make a damn fine weapon too." He stuffed it, head first into his pack and zipped it shut. Suddenly a loud scream pierced the air and the man's skin crawled. "Holy [censored]... what was that?" He slung his pack over his shoulder and headed out to investigate.

A few moments later he stood low behind a dumpster in an alley across from a large building. He saw a figure(Izzy) standing in the middle of the street, apparently having trouble standing. He brought his M16 around to the front and slowly crept out from behind his cover. He called out to the wobbly figure, "human or beast?"

After a few more hours rest Anderson went outside and went scavaging as he normally does he thought the mall might have a few things but would be crawling with taint, the library might have a few books for him but they would have all decayed the best place was to go was the resovoir and get more water this seemed like a good idea as it was still clean after all these years so he walked down through the back alleyways away from open areas until he reached it he grabbed his bottle and filled up and he walked back. but halfway there he saw an injured young man " water please let me have some water" he was cowering down and crawling towards him he looked at him and said "what is your name?" "my name? .... my name isn't that important." before he could utter another word Anderson stabbed him in the face a few time revealing the two face taint hiding in the gutter below him. without another word Anderson shot a round to it's head killing it instantly. " ha try and fool me."

Izzy, Tyrant

After seeing a man holding a gun, pointing it at her, she was more surprised seeing someone else as a whole as she just passed out on the street. Suddenly, a headless Widow Mantis smashed through the wall of the city hall as it twitched a bit, the giant man held his pick axe in one hand as he had no wounds at all, the scream must have comes from the Widow Mantis itself. "WHERE ARE YOU IZZY!" He screamed aloud. It was clear that he didn't care to attract unwanted attention.

Anderson was near home when he heard a sharp Roar it seemed to say "Where are you Izzy!"this disturbed him but he continued walking until he saw it. a giant man coming out of city hall "damnation! not this beast." he ran back into the building and put up the emergency barricade on the ground floor and he waited hoping it didn't see him.

Michael looked down at the unconscious girl at his feet, then up at the beast known as the Tyrant, then back at the girl. "Dammit!" He swung his M16 around to his back, quickly snatched you the girl and tossed her over his shoulder, then took off as fast as he could down the street. He ran past a man and young boy, possibly father and son, but didn't stop, he merely called out to them. "I'd run if I were you!"

((OOC: He's a damn coward XD))

Tyrant

Tyrant didn't even notice Izzy on the ground at first, only when someone grabbed her and ran for it did he realised she had passed out from being chocked half to death. He slowly walked towards them but the more he walked, the more momentum he picked as he began to go faster and faster towards the man and his boy which were now closer. Pick axe being held by his left hand straight up in the air, he screamed at the dad and his boy as the miners mask gave a strange muffled demonic tone to it. "HAHAHAHA!"

"I think it's time." Lilia spoke to herself as she wrapped a scarf around her face, covering her moth and nose. She grabbed a nearby box of matches, picked a match and quickly struck it against the box. A dull red light emitted throughout the room, revealing disheveled furniture and debris. Lilia quickly moved the match below a glass pane, which had nothing but a small lump of flesh on it. "I can only hope that coyotes provide a decent analog." She rummaged through a small toolbox before pulling out a near-empty vial of thick, red liquid. Lilia uncovered the top of the vial and carefully dropped the last of the vial's contents onto the meat.

At first, nothing happened; but after a few minutes, the chunk of coyote meat started to give off a truly repulsive scent. "Ugh, God!" Lilia was nearly gagging as she frantically opened the metal shutters of a nearby window. Even though it was technically daytime, only trace amounts of light dared to enter. With some clean air in her lungs, Lilia quickly scooped the sample into a bag and sealed it up. After the room finished airing itself out, Lilia sat herself down on a old, worn out couch. She grabbed a nearby journal and a previously snapped pencil, opened the book and began jotting some notes.

"Ugh... I'm out of supplies again," she told herself, "and it won't be easy getting my hands on more tainted blood." She started to plan on where she could safely find some more testing samples, but was interrupted by some noise outside. she crept up to the window she previously opened and tried to ascertain the commotion from her second-story vantage point. Off in the distance, she noticed someone carrying another person over their shoulder. "They're headed this way." was all Lilia thought as she grabbed a nearby pipe and made her way downstairs. She fumbled with a series of locks before the front door finally swung open; unlocking the door requires a good amount of force from the inside, so she ended up stumbling through the doorway. Once she was back on her feet, Lilia noticed the two she saw before. She waved her pipe in the air, hoping to flag them down.

Michael spotted another person in the street, this one waving some sort of object in the air, possibly flagging him down. He quickly looked behind him, saw that the behemoth was momentarily distracted and slowed down a bit as he approached the new arrival. He stopped just outside the door and next to the girl who had come out of it. He snapped another quick look over his shoulder, then shoved her back inside, following her in and closing the door as fast as possible. "It is not safe out there..." He then gently placed Izzy down on the ground next to the door and looked at the person who's hideout he had rudely invaded. "Sorry about that, but I really don't feel like letting that monster find us right now."

"That's quite alright look get those people over there, here. I'll take care of her." Anderson had a medical training book but he could read very little of it. He ran up to the penthouse and grabbed his kit wich was just a few banadges and a packet of asprin he came down and offered the girl the asprin. and he glared at the man who was still there. "If you aren't going to do anything useful shoot the damn beast!

Maze quickly grabbed and picked Allan up and started to run to the alley way on the right side and continued to run til they came to a fence "Crap!"Maze said in defear but than he noticed something..he than lifted Allan over the fence "Hurry son! Not much time before it get's here bye!" Allan only said goodbye and went further down the alley and than started to climb the fence himself which would take more time but he was determoned for his son as he repeated the words. "To love someone so much , you'd live in hell.

To love so much , when hope is lost , your hope is stronger then ever.

To love is to not just die for , but to live, to suffer , for.

To have one purpose.

This boy will have a father , and he will know, and he will learn!
"Maze repeated as he continued to climb the fence hoping to get over it before the Tyrant came.

Iris herself spotted the tyrant and proceeded to run for her life. Being a warrior who preferred to hit her enemies with melee weapons, a fighting style like her's would only serve to doom her. She turns into an alleyway, and makes her way to the other end where a fence stood. No problem, I can climb that easily. It wasn't long till she close enough to notice the man trying to climb it. Hmm...? Lemme help you with that, sir She says as she pushes the man the rest of the way over the fence and then vaulting over it herself.

Tyrant

Tyrant made his way though the streets, into the alleyway were they had climbed over the fence. Charging them, thinking he would easily just smash through the fence, it instead ripped from both ends were it was attached and entangled him like a spider web of rusted steel. Falling mere inches to the feet of Maze and Iris, he got back up as he slowly but surely started to rip the entangled fence. "AAARGH HAHAHA! YOUR FEAR! I SMELL IT!" He screamed, trying to kick one of them, which considering his size and strength, would feel like a horse kicking you.

(I want Izzy to wake up now but I'm kinda lost as to where Kisuke brought her.)
