There's also actually sort-of precedent in the animal kingdom.

But really, it's whatever beautiful picture your mind paints for you. This is not really intended to evoke a recognizable sexual practice, though I'm sure it actually does and is somebody's fetish.

I like how Maddie suddenly starts talking like a Dickensian street urchin towards the end.

Which just gave me a great idea for a fanfic involving her going undercover as a street urchin in a major human city.

It would probably have to be a human city with enough basitin residents that a basitin street urchin is plausible. I don't think disguising her as human or keidran would work.
