Is Tom Ok?

#1 Post by TheMasterOfOats »

So I’m sure Tom’s a busy guy.

But I’m sure I’m not the only one curious about the state of the next page.

Don’t take this as rude, but I’m dying for the next page, especially since it’s been two kinds weeks since the last comic update. Maybe it’s a massive page, I don’t know, but the fact that we’re still getting colour sketches band brand new ones means that he’s not too busy for Twokinds altogether.

Again, I don’t want to come across as rude or impatient, but I’m seriously hyped for the next page and I might blow a capillary if I don’t find out what the deal is with Rose.

Most likely yes.

If anything too severe were to happen i imagine he or his Team would post it on his twitter. In any case Toms schedule is not set in stone and is quite variable.
Sorry for the self-promotion but:
If you follow the first link in my signature: Twokinds of data , first post, I have a small graph that shows how much time he has taken to upload each page from the start. It has varied from two days the least to two months the longest

There is no team, lol, just him.

And yeah, long delays between pages are hardly anything new.

Haha, I went to check if this had any replies and the new page was up. And I must say, this page was ENTIRELY worth the wait.

Massive props, Tom.

Oh I was under the impression that despite not having a big team he had a couple persons helping him keep everything smooth and running.
I guess I was wrong

From what I understand, there are people who help run the forums and the site (mods and such, keeping the store from crashing, etc.), but the comic, storyline, character development... That's all him, and him alone. Always has been.
Gearhead mechanic in the digital era, who will probably grow up is in the process of growing up to be a very grumpy old man.

I stumbled onto this site a little over a year ago. Binged the whole series in a day or so. Got hooked.

After the first couple of times the strip didn't get updated "on schedule", I learned to just wait for it to happen.

Tom is human. He gets sick. He takes a break sometimes. He has other stuff going on in his life.

Whatever he's up to, I hope he's wearing a mask and keeping safe.

YOU HEAR ME, TOM? YOU BETTER BE WEARING YOUR FREAKIN' MASK AND STAYING SAFE.

I'll just wait here, quietly, patiently, politely, etc.

This Covid [censored] is not something to [censored] around with.
Two masks would be even better.
Two masks and a condom, just to be really safe.
- Inside a teflon bubble.
- With lots of alcohol for killing the viruses.
Don't forget to get your flu shot.

Massive props, Tom.
From what has been said/happened the last few streams, Tom was ill for a bit (nothing serious though, he didn't catch the plague or anything, no worries).

Casual coronavirus, nothing to worry about.

I have been noticing more and more 2 week breaks in the comic. Granted this is the holidays so it's understandable if he can't post them every single week on time all of the time, but it still feels like there's more than just that going on.

I wouldn't doubt it if he had some big Christmas project he's been working on that's been taking all his time, but it would be nice to get word once in a while.

I don't think he's been on a once-a-week schedule for a long time. It's usually been more like ten days to two weeks.

Then occasionally he posts two pages three days apart.

Most of the time in the last few years there has been 3-5 pages per month, and before that more. Now the rate seems to be down to 2 at most.
