I was referring to the grooming kit idea. :x

This kinda just hit me, but Maren has a fairly nice opportunity here. Aside from the species barrier, Sythe is a charming, gentle guy with washboard abs, who stands for those he cares for and is, well.. pretty darn transparent with his intentions. She's got a goldmine here.

The only questions are species related at this point. Can she cope with what she's just seen, and how do they shift the mood from "scared silly and nervous" to "let's get it on". imalbert was right, grooming seems like the smoothest choice here. I do wonder, though, would she see it more as romantic, or just calming?

For all the folks who are worried that this is just gonna fizzle out, this happened as Tom finished the page:

Alas, I can't help but still feel trepidation by whatever he means as a "doozy". A guest filler comic by FluffKevlar concluding this encounter certainly would be a doozy, but honestly so too would Roan and Brutis blowing up the basement be one. Any number of doozies could be had. And unfortunately previous experience in reading the comic doesn't bode well for this particular doozy in involving a "happy ending" between Maren and Sythe...

Oh, FK giving us the next page would send me to heaven happy. It would never happen, but oh, would I love it.

Then Sythe should take Maren in his arms and waltz her around the room a few times.

Rather than trying to push the sex issue, Sythe should remember when Maren was combing Raine's fur and order up a grooming kit. This would give Maren the opportunity to be intimate without the immediate pressure to jump right into sex.
How has nobody suggested this yet? That's probably the single best idea yet!

...though, from my personal experience, it's easy to get absorbed in something that relaxing without being sexually or romantically intimate. She may get sidetracked, and brush the hours away, to only become regretful that it didn't amount to more. Or she could be happy bonding with Sythe on a personal level rather than a casual hookup, but that doesn't seem to be her intention here...

Or it could end up being quite the turn-on, with her in a bikini and him in even less... Good thing my seat in the perv shipping container is reserved.

But my point stands. Great idea, that either of them could lean either way. Might end up best if Sythe suggests it to calm Maren's nerves instead of booze. That seems like it would either work perfectly, or Maren would give some personal history telling why it wouldn't or couldn't work... :maren:
I imagine a thorough grooming session is something you would rathe do after the act. Like cuddling and pillow talk or whatever.
Spoiler! nsfw
Me thinking about something to add to the discussion about Sythe's anatomy:

Yeah lets better not...

I'm not sure of the origins or etymology of the term, but "this one's a doozy" usually means that the thing is going to be especially dramatic, impactful, or powerful.

Also Fluff Kevlar is a furry artist who's done some TwoKinds fanart. If you're not in for VERY adult content, don't go searching.

Wiktionary calls the origin unknown, sadly. It is sometimes claimed that it comes from an old German Car manufacturer company called Dusenberg, but it was in use at least a decade before that company was founded.

Twokinds will be revealed to actually be a musical.

[INT] Sythe’s Room

*Maren with Sythe on bed calmly brushing*
*lights dim, spotlight illuminates Sythe as he breaks out in song*

“When Iiiii was a young pup-per~”

Nothing to break the ice like some broadway theatrics. Maren’s piece obviously would be her mulling her moral dilemma in a delightfully wimsical musical argument with her own inner monolog.

I think there has been a major possibility that's been overlooked...

Spoiler! A little NSFW?
Assuming the Sythe and Maren aren't interrupted, they may not use any protection since (up until very recently) humans and keidran were not mutually fertile.

Anyone want to lay odds on Maren getting pregnant?

After all, someone needs to provide Flora mutual support and personal understanding!

It was, somewhere early on. The end of that was something like "probably not, unless someone jinxes it". There was a whole thing about how she might react if it happened.

Late to the party, but I am loving this turn of events. So delightfully raunchy. Even more eager to see what happens than before, and that's saying something.

Spoiler! NSFW grody...maybe?
Without getting into too much detail... wouldn't it be uncomfortable for Maren considering... fur and whatnot. Humans... aren't as furry. I imagine Trace doesn't have that problem with Flora because... anatomy.
Did I just get myself banned?

That part of anatomy does not have fur on it in any real world species, AFAIK, and presumably is furless on keidran. So it really wouldn't be any furrier for a human female than a male paired with a keidran.[/
Spoiler!

Somehow I am expecting Sythe and Maren to get into a situation mirroring the milk induced misunderstanding Trace found himself in when everyone plus a pizza delivering Tom barged in. If so would there be more meaningless battle?

Of course considering male and female relations how Tom handles Keidran anatomy would be particularly relevant as Maren may find herself uhm... staying close by Scythe for some time.

You do realize that is when the two of them first met.
