But she can't control it very well, as she only teleported them a matter of feet from where the originally were. And I am willing to bet a magic forcefield would block teleportation done by magic.

She did manage a warp far enough to get them a surprise head-start beyond a fence (10 meters away). In this situation right here the barrier is very close but yeah it would probably defeat any meager attempt Raine could accidentally muster.

It could also be a coincidence maybe like Rafe said that this is a perimeter boundary around the city or something that Karen ran into. Team B might just conclude that there's bad news that way obviously and beat feet the way they planned (away from Karen's personal side-adventure). I just wonder because they seem pretty isolated where they're at, you know, so far in the woods for it to be something unrelated to them directly. Even Red seems to be concerned about covering lots of ground, so they must still have a ways to go before reaching civilization.

Well you have to remember that at the time Raine was wearing the manacles that her mother enchanted to suppress her magic and keep her looking human. We really don't know just how strong her magical abilities are, though we do know she's more than a little behind on her training...

Tom said that shes by far the second strongest mana user, or at least has the potential to be. Shes the daughter of the (former) Grand Templar and Euchre, those must be some good genes.

Raine's biggest hurdle is the fact that she's entirely untrained. If not for the suppressor (which wasn't manacles at the time but a pendant) and her isolation she could have easily grown into a mage on par with Trace in his prime. Plus she's currently stuck in a form that greatly limits her magical ability.
