occasionally in about the first 1/3 of the comic there were penguins that showed up in images ever once in a while, i did a quick skip but was unable to spot one again to use as an example for this question. Pretty much just wondering whats up with them? did tom just like them when in highschool? is it some old meme? they don't really make any sense to me

I'm not sure on the penguins, I think they were an in-joke/running gag at one point, but some things:
First: to post an image, enclose the link in [img](link)[/img] or highlight the link and hit the Img button next to the Font Size box (note: the link must be the link to the actual image, not just to the page the image is on {R-click the image and get the link that way}. It should end in .jpg .gif .bmp et cetera
Second: hast thou heard the Good News of Our Lord and Savior, the Edit Button? He has several disciples, of which one is also known as the Delete Post Button, who shouldst be consulted once thee hast attended to Our Lord and Savior Edit Button, for the removal of extra posts which have been combined into one single post.
