Interestingly enough, of all the major comic characters Raine is probably the most likely (after Trace) to actually have the potential for something like this. After all, she's the child of an extremely powerful uniquely-talented keidran mage and a human who was magically powerful enough to become grand templar. Despite the fact that she has basically no training, she's already shown a few flashes of surprising power. She was able to spontaneously teleport all of group B away from danger despite wearing a magic suppressor. She also saw through Zen's illusion without even trying *and* was able to 'hear through' the language components of the illusion to realize that he was speaking keidran rather than human. If she can do those completely untrained, what might she be capable of if she actually knew what she was doing?

All in all, she's probably the second most potentially magically powerful character we've seen in the comic, after Trace. We've met a lot of mages who are *currently* more powerful than her simply due to actually having training and experience in the magical arts, but give Raine a few years of training and I'd bet she's got the raw power to whip anyone short of Trace himself.

I think if she was trained to take full advantage of her power, she could even give Trace, at full power, a run for his money.
I actually had a similar discussion recently, when the suggestion came up.

Whoa
This looks awesome enough as a sketch. I, as well, would love to see this one colored.
Well you both are in luck, it was the number one choice for coloring.
Indeed. I didn't know it was until Tom tweeted it. Easily my favorite patreon sketch so far
This is it.

And has Mrs. N. become her familiar? Or is she just along for some squirrely fun?

Group howl, now in color.

Lilith checkin out Zen a bit there...

I noticed Natani's Os are a bit wobbly - perhaps he's not the most tuneful howler? Also, I totally thought his tail was on fire for a second.

Oh yeah thanks for pointing that out :P
I love how Sythe and Nibbly's howls unite in the air... magical stuff!

Freakin' awesome work. Love the night scene, love the visible breaths, love Raine's confusion, love Natani trying too hard...

Magic Lesson.

Ah, now this is the one I happened to see first when I dropped in to the colouring stream. Excellent!

Hmm... is it just me, or is Kat's focus sort of the wrong way round? I don't think Natani's supposed to be glowing... right?

Sketch of the Day will return after these short messages! :P

So happy to see it get coloured, definitely deserved to be!
