Comic for Thursday, Sept 04 2014

A Much Better First Impression

I guess we stand corrected about the door being left unlocked.

{EDIT}
To Aeolus. This comic is up since at least 6:23 AM. How did we both end up trying to start a topic at the same time 6 minutes later, both of us delete our topics, then end up making the same topic again 2 minutes later!?

Maddie's picklocking skill: godlike :D

Lynn knows how to lick some... boots

Well, that was an interesting post-dance.

Anyway, yeah. "Unlocked". He should've used drawings of locks instead of real locks, there's no way she'd get past those.

And I have Print Screen-ed proof of this little dance. Anyway, the first time it happened, do you remember if yours was above or below mine? If it was below, that means you technically got it first and I should've been one to delete.

You're right! If it was only drawn on paper that means there would be no tumbler for her to be able to pick! There's no way she would escape then!

Hey, wait a minute…

Also, where's the tray Lynn is carrying in panel three?

I don't think I have EVER seen someone look as unamused as Eric does in that 6th panel.

And here we can see Eric win the golden cup of trolling. Congratulation to him.

Also, dear Maddie, when you're aboard of a ship where you're not supposed to be, don't act all manipulative and sneaky. Just act polite and sympathetic, that always beat all the spy talents someone can have. See Lynn... okay why was HE hiding in the first place? As he anything to see with Maddie? Isn't he free to go out of the island? Is he Lynn himself or something else? We need more explanations. (;_;)

I guess Eric had better learn to live with the benefits of his new cohorts than to repeatedly try and lock them away. Clearly, you can't keep Maddie down!

I especially like the stare off in panels 5 and 6

Eric has the same face Trace has in the coffee incentive. "Meh."

Though I will admit it funny that Maddie had the lock picked before Eric even left the room. :P

And, of course... Lynn's complete lack of emotion. :|

EDIT: It has been 4 hours. Why still only one page of comments?

Okay, so Lynn is actually on board the ship. I quite honestly wasn't entirely sure.

Also not sure which I should be laughing at more; the "un-unlocked" door, the look on Eric's face, or the way Maddie just breezed right through the locks without anyone noticing.

I couldn't help noticing a couple of other things, though. Lynn's weird speech pattern seems to be a lot more normal now. And... I know Lynn's always worn that necklace with the blue stones; they can't be mana stones, like General Alabaster had, can they? I know he shouldn't be able to use them safely, but what else could explain his repeated vanishing acts since he came on board?

I like this page.
I didn't laugh as hard as the last one, but I didn't expect to either. Eric's face, the locks picked in 5 seconds and the "spare guest room" made my day.

We've seen Maddie in action. I do not believe this is actually a question. :P

Also, forgot to mention this earlier, but the steam coming off of the teapot is very well done, indeed.
I'm starting to think that Tom's 3 strongest art skills are facial expressions, character development and steam/smoke/clouds.

And here we see why Lynn was Alaric's right hand man!

Poor little Maddie has a looot left to learn, well except for lock picking, no ones beating her there! :P

Lynn really raises a lot of questions, but at least we now know he actually exists. Pretty sure he came aboard with Maddie and they knew about each other, but he's more sneaky and difficult to pin down than Madness herself. Not sure if I trust him.

Yeah, Forums feel a bit empty to me too. Last comic page has only three pages of discussion.
