"Speech Bubble"-less Comics
*Note: I will update this whenever new "Speech Bubbles"-less Comics appear!*
Jeez, it has been a long time since I posted something.
Anyway, I remember that there were several comics where the speech bubbles were removed. Most of them were made by Tom, but I think a couple were made from people on the forum. Unfortunately, I do not know from which dates they were from. If you have saved them or know where they are, could you post them here please? It would make it easier for people to find them. I will see what I can find.
As for why, primarily for two reasons. One is for an artistic stand point. It would be nice to see what lies behind the speech bubbles. It may just be something simple and unimportant (like a wall, tree, or a little bit of a character), but I think it would be nice to see the picture in its entirety. Also, it would be easier for people to make panel shuffles with comics without speech bubbles. It would give them more freedom to work with text and dialogue.
I am not saying that Tom should most a "speechless" version for every single comic. I am just asking that any blank comics that are made by Tom pop up or by someone talented enough to photoshop the speech bubbles out of the comic, that they can be posted here. That is all!
*UPDATE 9/28/2011* (See the for latest updates)
Guess what guys! Avwolf pointed out a link where Tom is already posting the comics without the speech bubbles! Thank you Tom for posting them for us! I believe I speak for all us, much appreciated!
Most of these you can find on Kindamoody's site http://gladmac.se/susannes/2k/versions/. However, there are a few that are not. The comics are not all consistent, they tend to jump and skip parts in the story. To make things easier for you all, here is a list of the comics Tom has posted in his speechless comic website, along with what actual number they are in the series and a short description on events in each part. Enjoy! http://twokindscomic.com/speechless/

Re: "Speech Bubble"-less Comics
If people want to do their own panel shuffles it sucks to have all the extra white space bubbles in the way. it takes away from the comic and sometimes it's nice to look at them without all the speech anyway.D3ADKi113R wrote:Why?Elo wrote:Jeez, it has been a long time since I posted something.

Re: "Speech Bubble"-less Comics
I'd like a full version of the comic without speech bubbles & to have them forwarded to the folks at FYTK.
Re: "Speech Bubble"-less Comics
Pretty much for the reasons that Conal and SirSlaughter gave. Having a comic without speech bubbles would make it easier for people to create panel shuffles. Also, (from an artistic stand point) I am curious to see what is behind the bubbles. It maybe just some planks of wood, forest, or a part of a characters ear, but it would be nice what the picture would look like.D3ADKi113R wrote:Why?Elo wrote:Jeez, it has been a long time since I posted something.

Now, I am not asking for Tom to post a blank copy of every single comic. He is a pretty busy, and that would just be very time consuming. I am just asking if he happens to post some or someone photoshops a comic without the speech bubbles, they can post them here that is all.

It’s also good for translators so people who do not speak English may experience the insanity with us. Anyway, here’s a list of the ones I could find. Surprisingly they were all posted by Schrodinger. I guess he/she/it was the only one who bothered to ask Tom about it.SirSlaughter wrote:If people want to do their own panel shuffles it sucks to have all the extra white space bubbles in the way. it takes away from the comic and sometimes it's nice to look at them without all the speech anyway.D3ADKi113R wrote:Why?Elo wrote:...I remember that there were several comics where the speech bubbles were removed. Thanks BadFoMo! Much appreciated! Just one question. Correct me if I am wrong, but won't those threads be moved to the archives eventually? If so, maybe we should post them all here just to be safe.BadFoMo wrote:It’s also good for translators so people who do not speak English may experience the insanity with us. No, the archive thing was kind of a fluke. It's significantly more likely that the archives will be moved back here than things here will be moved into the archives.Elo wrote:Thanks BadFoMo! Re: "Speech Bubble"-less Comics
There are some more pages I didn't see posted in this thread:

http://2kinds.com/images/20110319nt.jpg
http://2kinds.com/images/20110323nt.jpg
I try to ask Tom for no text versions when he has just posted a new comic and is likely to have the file and ftp program open, but as it is extra work for him I avoid it at other times.
If there are more nt versions around, I don't know of them.
As for comic pages with speech bubbles but without text, I'm still working at creating a full archive of such pages. They are currently being used for translations to four languages. Link to these pages for the first four chapters, in a very unorganized folder, can be found here.

Only Tom can provide good copies without speech bubbles, the best we can do is copying a piece of an even background and paste it on the speechbubbles.
For instance, in this picture http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/3426/u ... eidran.jpg in the top left corner it's clearly visible I used multiple rectangles.

Re: "Speech Bubble"-less Comics
It would appear that Tom has heard the pleas of the fandom, and seeks to provide.
http://twokindscomic.com/speechless/ He's far from finished yet, but who can complain about getting even just a chunk of the original, speech bubble-lacking artwork.
