no really... I think that Tom brought these two back for a reason, Simply because she has some unnatural keidran blood, Karen could be the key between stabalizing the conflict. Think about it, they Keidran armies would be hesitant to kill her because of her appearnce, and when the kingdom discoveres this they will beg her to bring peace! However the Templar will then try to kill her, because she is in 'abomonation', which is where Trace and the others come in!

Or it could simply be comic relief- like what Mike and Evals served to the Basitin Islands' plot.

Nah, Zen's gotta stay at home so that he can pester Natani. I mean, so that he can funnel any intelligence Natani's able to gather from Trace to the Wolves' Elder Council.

I suppose we really shouldn't be as surprised that the Taverndattir sisters' inn is close enough to the Wolf border that the Keidran forces have already arrived. After all, the offensive's been running for what's probably near a week or so, and Trace originally found Flora (who would have been travelling to the Wolf capitol) within a very short distance of this town.

I'm interested to see how far Tom runs this. I've been very curious to see how the war has been proceeding since we'd last heard that it'd begun.

Um...wow Tom did a nice job drawing these old characters. Karen still is too peppy and annoys me a little, but whatever. Wolves attacking the village means a war has erupted between those two groups. I wonder if Trace and Co. will head back there now, or will [De] and Co. run to them?

Speaking of Zen, he was probably watching the whole thing that happened in the last chapter. Now, apart from bugging Nat, we don't know where his loyalties really lie. I mean, Nat knows that Trace is the grand templar and is more or less incapacitated at the moment, so Zen knows it too, right? The tribe know's enough about Zen and Nat's link that they can exploit it for communication, right? I figure either Zen is a [censored] and told the wolfen leaders that now is a good time to attack, or someone else entirely 'listened in' on their mental conversations, to the same effect.

OR. It's not actually wolf keidran, it's just some stray wolves. And Zen was watching the events of the last chapter while eating popcorn, because it would more or less be a free movie. I mean, seriously. How else would Zen react to the insane drama happening over on the island?
