Sparky: How do you feel? Speed: It's big. Sparky: That cockpit is the exact same size it was at Thunderhead. Speed: Right. Sparky: I want to say thank you. This could be the most exciting moment of my entire life. I'm looking forward to that cold milk. Quoted from Speed Racer, the movie that came o...

Re: Rant/Vent/sad thread

Then I don't really know what to do. I'd recommend a hard restart, but something tells me you've already done that. In other news, my ancient Kenmore box fan doesn't like blown-in insulation, and I forgot to bring oil for it. Imagine an attic space, insulated from the house of course, with dark shin...

snip Waiting for cache, you say? Windows or mac? I've had issues similar in the past. Not the exact same, I'll admit, but the same solution might work. Open the Task Manager or equivilant, and sort all processes by memory usage. If there's an abnormally high usage, over... 25,000 k on my old OS, I ...

Apparently? At least Windows 10 seems to think so. zuneaudio and zunevideo were the two that I had to delete.

Why, how old and how bad was it?

Re: What made you smile today? Round 2!

So here's my "screw you Cortana" moment for today... As anyone with Windows 10 and Cortana would know, if you ask her to play music, she opens Groove. I, and apparently many others, don't like Groove. Unfortunately, there is no way to uninstall it, as it is not listed in the apps, and cann...

Re: Rant/Vent/sad thread

Windows 10 updated, and rebooted itself three times, getting the error INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE. I did a system restore, but it failed, so now I'm back to Vista.

Hopefully, using this old of an OS will teach 10 not to do this. It worked with 8.1, anyway.

And speaking of tigers, did anyone notice how Maddie's eyes suddenly ended up with very feline-looking vertical pupils? Scary. I mentioned it earlier in the thread somewhere.. But yeah. It doesn't say "feline" to me, quite as much as it says "feral". Makes me wonder if Basitins ...

Re: Rookie's Edits and animations

That's pretty good. I quite like it.

If you want some advice, I'd say don't make the flashbacks jump around, and maybe put them in quicker succession, like a "life flashing before eyes" kind of thing. It did come out very well, though.

Re: What made you smile today? Round 2!

Funny story. So I have this motorcycle... It was made by Yamaha in 1983, with their XJ550 in-line 4 cylinder engine. I bought it from my aunt, with one key and one key only. The past few days, I was visiting my.. relatives? What do you call "sibling's spouse's parent"? Anyway, I was visiti...

Holy shucks I'm late. Maddie, please don't tell me Basitin have a feral mode, where they just beat the crap out of everything they see, and you're losing control of yours... 'Cause that'd be really bad for your "innocent kid" image. In all seriousness, Beautiful. Well written and very well...

Re: What made you smile today? Round 2!

I was working with my father on my aunt's house, and took a nap. I used a new bundle of 250' 14-guage wire as a pillow, and it was oddly comfortable. It gave me some time to think. I've been kind of content lately, and only then did I (sort of) figure out why. First off, I got to ride my father's CB...

Re: Tom's posts on the archive forum?

As far as I know, there is no way to search the Archive Forum. The best way to find what you're looking for would be to read through the 311 posts and find what you're looking for, else go through every thread manually and look for his name, unfortunately. I recommend reading through his posts alone...

I have 10. And my start menu is back. Though for some reason it wants my Microsoft account to use Cortana. Eh, I'll figure it out later. Right now I have places to be.

Re: What made you smile today? Round 2!

My Windows 10 upgrade is downloaded. Set to install tonight at about 3 am. I can't wait to see what new bullcrap I have to deal with in THIS version of Windows! At least I'll have a start menu again. This 8.1 "start screen" is.. Well, there's nothing I can say that's not a swear.
