Re: Stop Online Piracy Act
Really? Megaupload? The site where you just had to send a mail and copyrighted stuff was taken down?
That sounds ridiculously dodgy.

Re: "Totally drug-resistant" tuberculosis strain erupts in I
It has to be checked whether or not the available TB vaccines show any effect regarding the new strain. It would decrease the chances of a pandemic drastically.

Re: Stop Online Piracy Act
Look up the corporate criminals who are (publicly) supporting these bills and refuse to buy their products/use their services.
Hit them where it really hurts; in their wallets.

Re: "Totally drug-resistant" tuberculosis strain erupts in I
Now, imagine a lethal virus that's totally drug resistant getting loose in one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Tuberculosis is actually a bacterium, but you're right this might lead to a massive epidemic. As far as I can see no pandemic, fortunately, as the transmissibility is...

Re: Science proves: Conservatives paranoid, reactionary hoth
Violent crime goes down while gun ownership goes up. I get called biased and you link to some ultraright-wing site that picks a recent outlier to make their point? I thought librul pinko commies were more, y'know, left. Anyway, the link between the number of guns in circulation and homicides is cle...

Re: Science proves: Conservatives paranoid, reactionary hoth
Let me see; fear of the immediate environment that features pareidolia-like symptoms -> paranoia; fear of change and the other that results in clinging to ancient traditions -> reactionism; consequences of fear -> hot temper (remember the climate after 9/11?). I don't see what's generalized about th...
