Re: 1st World Problems

So, I pulled an Amiga 500+ from the dumpster a while back. Just the bare machine plus a disk that was still in the drive. After getting a power supply and a SCART adapter from eBay last week it powered right up, asking for a Workbench disk (of course). So I went back to eBay and managed to procure ...

Re: 1st World Problems

I have bad RAM in my computer. Looks like both sticks are bad, sadly. Gonna cost at least $60 to replace this stuff.

This is a full movie you know, right? Insterstella 5555, animated by Toei, who did indeed do the original Space Pirate Captain Harlock. Interstella is a great film in its entirety, the sequenced clips don't do it justice.

Re: New Computer Mayhem

Whoa, hold up, why are you disk-checking that fast? What exactly were the events leading up to this failure? What did you do and what did the computer do. That'll help us troubleshoot.

Very cool! Don't worry though, posting in those group threads or list threads isn't necroposting unless it's off-topic. Stuff like the dreams thread or the setup thread aren't expected to be continuous from day to day. We only care about necroposting if you're adding to a discussion thread that's di...

Re: What made you smile today? Round 2!

Things have been going pretty well lately. I'm pretty sure I just aced my two most difficult exams, I've got a job offer for work that'll let me stay in my hometown and strike out on my own properly, and I've recently started seeing a girl. And I still have easter leftovers. So I'm rather content ri...

Re: Rant/Vent/sad thread

I'd actually meant to post something yesterday, but given the circumstances.... Well, today is fine. It's been exactly (give or take a few days) a year since MrFlyingAmoeba passed away and it's been on my mind as a result recently. It's hard to believe we've gone a full year without him, and yet, he...

Re: What made you smile today? Round 2!

I managed to grab a Super Nintendo for myself at a good rate. Though I don't have any games yet, it provides a nice addition to my library.
Spoiler!
Pictured: Sega Genesis, SNES, PS2, and an NES motherboard behind those gunpla.

Wow, has it actually been that long since the three-week-long April Fool's fiasco? Jeez, I feel ancient.

I really liked this one! Nibbly looks adorable.

Having been at the receiving end of that hammer, oh is it ever easy to spot those who didn't read the rules and those who did.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I went out to my first-ever Melee tourney last night, part of a 24h LAN party for charity. I basically played or commentated video games for 16 and a half hours straight with a few breaks in-between. Despite being utter trash at Melee, I got to meet a lot of great people and got interested in the sc...

Oh my, collaborative worldbuilding, and pre/early-industrial era? Though I question using mekkan as the basis, I am keenly interested.

Re: Panel Shuffle

Gimp is a pretty good alternative to more complex software, as are paint.NET and Sumopaint.

I use Photoshop, and more recently Affinity Designer, though they're not free and I've been using them for years now so if complexity is an issue, the free options tend to be more friendly for simple tasks.
