Re: Comic for March 29, 2023: "Conversing with Clovis"

Interesting to learn that one can, in fact, completely burn out of magic. I mean, we knew mana burn was a thing, but I didn't know it could be that serious. Could be it's a similar process to what the mage that killed themselves damaging Natani's soul did. I'd guess it'd be a consequence of how qui...

Re: Comic for May 29, 2021: Kathrin in Trouble pt4

Ooh! Or that collar they gave Zen back at the spring! If it's a magic inhibitor, it might work on another shackle, disabling any effects and/or protective enchantments, allowing almost anyone else to remove it. That is, of course, assuming Rom doesn't just kill her right here and now, which is a ge...

Re: Comic for May 22, 2021: Kathrin in Trouble pt3

Small magic would logically use mana at a lower rate than big magic. Sure, you'd do a lot more of it, but quite possibly using less total energy, and definitely less in any one spell. Rate matters. If I correctly remember the calculations I did, the amount of energy that the atomic bomb released ov...

Re: Comic for May 22, 2021: Kathrin in Trouble pt3

Re small magic, there could be other limiters, too. From things like the amount of mana that’s available in a given area/to a given person over a period of time, to limits on how much one can use over a given time (some universes refer to this as “spell sickness”). It could also have to do with the ...

I feel as though the story would start becoming really lame if all the bad guys sent up against Trace & Co were merely converted to their cause instead.

Re: Comic for May 20, 2021: Kathrin in Trouble pt2

I don't know why, but this comic really seems like it's focusing on the table. I know it doesn't have any runes on it, but perhaps this is where things get summoned from? Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but it would be amusing if Zen was like, "Man, I wish Kat was here," and then *BOMPF!* ...

Re: Comic for April 25, 2021: Clovis vs. Reni

You know, I do wonder if there’s more to this mind reading that what we’re realizing. Like limitations of some sort. Requiring a level of concentration that would leave the dragon vulnerable (ie, all the dragon can “see” is what they’re getting out of the mind), or if someone can actively resist/shi...

Re: Comic for April 25, 2021: Clovis vs. Reni

As for the kill switch I imagine after a bug fight Clovis is about to deliver the killer blow to Reni. And then Brahn projects himself through the gem and says: "i still have need for the dragon princess" or something to that effect and turns off Clovis amulet. Reni then proceeds to smash...

Re: Comic for April 25, 2021: Clovis vs. Reni

Young small dragon inexperienced with magic vs big magic weapon geared specifically towards dragons sounds like really bad news for Reni. :( Would love to be wrong though. Yeah, that’s my concern, too. Of course Nora loves to use a cat form, perhaps she has awoken from her healing sleep.. I don't t...

Re: Comic for April 14, 2021: No Hard Feelings

It's really not worth noting. Clovis would have happily killed everyone there. And Brutus? He was right there, ready & willing to kill anyone there as well. They knew what they were doing. Clovis at least did. As for Brutus? One of two scenarios: 1: He didn't know the plan, and was therefore re...

Notice how the fire lines completely bent around him / his corpse.
That may have more to do with chance/where he happened to be standing when the fireball hit than actively trying to protect him.

I have a feeling this is not going to play out the way many here are hoping. :P

Yeah, I was wondering before if that amulet of Clovis' was enchanted to be a kind of anti-dragon weapon....

Re: Comic for April 14, 2021: No Hard Feelings

I would argue that firebombing a village doesn’t fit in the “defending” or “protecting” Clovis category, either.

Re: Comic for April 14, 2021: No Hard Feelings

Small post, but I didn't notice before.. I think I see a tiny puff of breath coming out of Brutus. It's shape and position would be a little off for stone floor shading, so he could be in the dying process, but still breathing, just barely! Better than having already succumbed while Clovis has his ...

Re: TwoKinds [of] data

The mos interesting thing here is the fact the interactions in the forum, either replies or views dropped drastically around 2010. Which is sort the end of the Basitin isles arc and i have no idea why. I wonder if that happens to relate to frequency and regularity of updates. That would be an inter...
