I wonder if the redhead tiger's ear twitch is a reaction to Therie or if they've finally noticed something going on at the Estate?

Re: Sketch of the Day

Humans cheat on our vocal tone. Starting in puberty, girls make their voices unnaturally high and boys make their voices unnaturally low until it becomes second nature. I don't know where you got this idea, but if it even factors in, its minimal at best. Physiological differences play a MUCH bigger...

Re: Sketch of the Day

I imagine Eric's father, and mother perhaps walking to the slave market and seeing the young Keidran on the discount bin and saying: "Oh boy that sterile, still underage, would be sex-toy looks perfect for our house/business" What for: A maid? I imagine they have more capable personell, A...

I believe that at least some of those were for the artbook.

Re: The colored pieces Tom hasn't posted

Apart from the surprise sketches, that seem to be some sort of Patreon comic for the future, all those are Nora Card commissions by the looks of it. Tom has previously used them as backlog buffer, so that if he can't post sketches for a few days, he has something else to post.

Re: Sketch of the Day

Quick question about the shuffled-to-DA sketches and colourings — are they shrunk a bit compared to the originals still up on Patreon? The last couple seem to be about 2/3 to 3/4 the average size of the ones I've seen before. Nope. Click the Download-button on the upper right to see the pictures in...

Do not make a post that's 80% quote. That makes following threads an incredibly annoying chore. You don't need to repeat every single word the other person has said to be understood.

In the sketch version I thought it was a poster of Daniels in his helmet, but the color version does look more like a keidran. What are you people talking about? It's obviously Daniels wearing his winged guard helmet. "Deserter" means a soldier who leaves his post without permission, whic...

Re: Comic for May 22, 2018: Aural Explanation

Fun fact. In medieval times use of forks was very uncommon. Nobility were the only ones who used them for the most part. Then we learned about germ theory. This comic has never tried to portray its setting as actually Medieval. It just picks what it likes from the aesthetics of Medieval European fa...

Wait? How long has Karen had that cat-like split upper lip? (Panel 2) I don't recall her having that before, though I might've just not noticed it. Or did Tom just get used to drawing all the other mouths on the page that way and woopsie'd? It's just a cartoonish effect. It's hardly uncommon, espec...

Re: Map of Mekkan

However, that isn't the only pattern for major cities. Paris, for example, doesn't fit it. Paris lies on the banks of Seine, a major trade route in the Medieval times and before. Every single major city of the ancient world exists as a hub of major trade routes, which save for the rare exceptions o...

Re: Map of Mekkan

Like most maps made by fantasy writers, it really doesn't convey the real scope or needs of an actual world or society. All the greatest population centers should be on the coastlines, or at least by major rivers, a giant desert can't just sit next to a forested region or a tundra without intermedia...

Re: The Keidran Language Thread

Well, even that depends. Maybe humans in one area spoke a certain language, while ones in the other spoke another. The former group was annexed and assimilated, leaving its remains as only the names of towns in that area. This could also be place names or just one fossilized human language. Edinmir...

Squirrels are "built" by long evolution to live in trees and sometimes falls from : not a shock like it who can kill them :squirrel: Unfortunately being violently thrown has a lot more impact than just falling the equivalent distance, unless the fall is extremely high. And the gnarly tree...

Re: Comic for October 15, 2017: Post Victory

There's only one logical explanation: Evil!Trace performed resurrective experiments on small animals in a vain attempt to bring his wife back from the dead. Only, one time he actually succeeded in making a certain squirrel 100% unkillable, but since it didn't help to actually bring back the dead, he...
