Re: Rant/Vent/sad thread
recently a snowballing misunderstanding with several mods/admins has caused me lots of grief, and left me drained. I so can relate to Edd in the episode A Fist Full of Ed. from the show Ed, Edd & Eddy http://ed.wikia.com/wiki/A_Fistful_of_Ed Not only does the misunderstandings still exist, Yash ...

Re: Voting incentive past pages
he doesn't always remember to post them on DA. last year I had to ask about a Keith incentive. I think it was one where he was in a pink apron, or had a cake dropped on him. Both of those are there :| . Or did he post them after you asked about them? after I told him. It took him a while to post an...

Re: Biology Issues
I have no idea how many they have at once. I would say more than one, but it is not my comic and thus, not my place to make that call. We have seen that Keidran females who don't mate get upset. We have not seen the same with the males, who don't go into heat. It seems to be generally accepted that...

Re: Biology Issues
If they mate with more than one male, than any one of them could be the father. That said, some female animals can give birth to young which have different fathers, making at least some of the children half-siblings. Maybe it is the same here. actually I don't think it was ever revealed how many of...

Re: Biology Issues
for keidrans they do, she picks who(m) she want and then mates with him/them a week after her heat is doneJetman wrote:That has little to do with my last point. I said that if a female mates with many males, she has no choice in which one of the ones she mates with gets her pregnant.

Re: Biology Issues
Actually, if she mates with more than one male over a given time period, she has less choice, unless she can somehow choose which sperm impregnates her. If the sperm of multiple males is in her, she will not know who the father is. found it http://www.mindwafers.com/3/post/2011/01/unsung-heroes-of-...

Re: Biology Issues
http://www.neatorama.com/2007/04/30/30-strangest-animal-mating-habits/ Well size doesn't always matters, but the traits do. Besides with as many partners as a female keidran takes on, sure she might weed out a good one eho just didn't have what it takes, but she has a choice of many others who not o...

Re: Biology Issues
That last part makes less sense. It is possible to have every desirable trait except for the ones that would allow a male to last a long time in bed. That could disqualify a number of strong males. Only desirable traits survive in any species. Obviously being able to mate a lot/long time because of...

Re: Biology Issues
And if selective breeding is the case, then to what end? People don't have kids because they want to see specific traits; that sounds like a horse breeder looking for a good plowhorse. simple; like the female elephant sniffing the male's urine, or the female bird picking the male with the most vibr...

Re: Biology Issues
It's not actually the sex, or fertility; it's what traits the female want for their offspring. Every species is different in how they pick breeding stock. female elephants sniff the male's urine. some birds pick the brightest colored feathered male. in nature females want good breeding stock. they h...

Re: Biology Issues
maybe having a high sex drive helps give them the energy to sample everything at the buffet, not just fill up on the bread sort of speak. If they can have the energy for multiple partners it might help them decide the best breeding stock. I'm sure the females look for males with high sex drives beca...

Re: Biology Issues
if I remember right, keidrans don't get knocked when they mate during their heat / estress (spelling?) cycle. It's actually after they come out of heat that they can get pregnant. Basically all that mating during heat is foreplay.

Re: gender bent names
@Miacis: Well I don't list her because I don't even know lol. but, I'd like to know, that's one of the big reasons why I'm inviting the community to help. Everyone is so hell bent on making this a federal case they over look the fact that without threads like this, names and other things can't be di...
